If you use Adobe Elements or Photoshop, you can make your copyright into a brush so all you have to do is stamp your copyright on your photo when you are done editing.  Here is the tool bar that shows what tools you will be using to create your copyright brush.

After you open up photoshop, click on File and then New.  Make this layer about 300 pixels wide by 200 pixels tall at 72 dpi.  Then click on maximize so that there isn't a window around it.  Next you will need to create a new layer.  Bring up the layers pallet.

You will only see one layer and it will say background highlighted in blue.  Double click where is says background and a window will pop up that says New layer and you click okay.  Then on the layers pallet, right next to the trash can icon you will see the create a new layer icon, click on that.  Now it should look like the above picture.  Now you need to left click where it says layer 0 and holding the left button down, drag the layer 0 to the trashcan and drop it in there so you will only see the checkerboard layer. Click on the Text tool and you need to pick out which font you want to use.  I used the Monotype Corsiva font for my example and set it to 24.  The first thing you need to do is put the copyright symbol.  To get the copyright symbol, hold down the alt key and on the numeric keypad on your computer type in 0169.  If this does not work for you, there is another way to get the copyright symbol.  Click on Start on your computer and then All Programs.  Then click on Accessories>System Tools>Character Map.  When the character map comes up find the copyright symbol and click on it and then select and then copy.  Toward the top of the layer that you created, using the text tool, click and paste the copyright symbol on.  Then using the move tool, move the copyright symbol towards the bottom and place in on one of the lines of the checkerboard.

By doing this, you will be assured that the whole copyright will line up right.  Now, click on your text tool again and click towards the top of the new layer and type in the year.

Then use the move tool to move it down and align it with the copyright symbol.  Get your text tool again and clicking towards the top again, type in your name.

Use your move tool to move your name down and align it with the rest of the copyright.

When you are satisfied with how it looks, at the top of the screen, click on Select>All and then click on Edit>Define Brush.  A window will pop up that says Brush Name.

You can give it your own name or just give it the one it comes up with, and then click okay.  Now when you click on the brush tool, at the top of the screen, you will see brush with a down arrow and if you click on that arrow to select a type of brush, you should find the brush in there that you just created.  After you are done editing a photo, all you have to do to put your copyright on it is to click on the brush tool and find your brush.  You can adjust the size by moving the slider bar that says Master Diameter.  If the copyright doesn't look dark enough, just click in the same spot 3 to 4 times to get it to the darkness you want.  You can also make your copyright any color you want.  To do this, located towards the bottom of the tool bar, you will see two large squares, the black one is the foreground color and the white one is the background layer.  Click on the black square and pick a color and then click okay.  Then click on the brush tool and when you put the copyright on, it will be the color you selected.
