The Deity of Jesus 
"While the Pharisees were gathered together, Jesus asked them, Saying, What think ye of Christ? Whose son is he?" Matthew 22:41-42.
Divine Names Jesus is the First and Last Revelation 1:17 , "And when I saw him, I fell at his feet as dead. And he laid his right hand upon me, saying unto me, Fear not; I am the first and the last." Revelation 2:8, "And unto the angel of the church in Smyrna write; These things saith the first and the last, which was dead, and is alive." Isaiah 44:6 , "Thus saith the Lord the King of Israel, and his redeemer the Lord of hosts; I am the first, and I am the last; and beside me there is no God."
Jesus is the Alpha and Omega Revelation 1:8 , "I am Alpha, and Omega, the beginning and the ending, saith the Lord, which is, and which was, and which is to come, the Almighty." Revelation 22:12-13, "And, behold, I come quickly; and my reward is with me, to give every man according as his work shall be. I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end, the first and the last." The speaker is identified in Revelation 22:20 , He which testifieth these things saith, Surely I come quickly. Amen. Even so, come, Lord Jesus.
Jesus is the Lord of Glory I Corinthians 2:8, "Which none of the princes of this world knew: for had they known it, they would not have crucified the Lord of glory." In Psalm 24:8-10, "The Lord of glory" is Jehovah God: "Who is this King of glory? The Lord strong and mighty, the Lord mighty in battle. Lift up your heads, O ye gates; even lift them up, ye everlasting doors; and the King of glory shall come in. Who is this King of glory? The Lord of hosts, he is the King of glory. Selah."
The Apostles called Jesus God John 20:28 , "And Thomas answered and said unto him, My Lord and my God." Titus 2:13 says Jesus is our "great God and our Saviour Jesus Christ."
God the Father called Jesus God Hebrews 1:8 , "But unto the Son he saith, Thy throne, O God, is for ever and ever: A sceptre of righteousness is the sceptre of thy kingdom."
Jesus said, "...for if ye believe not that I am he, ye shall die in your sins." John 8:24 |
