Too Perfect Study Group
Started 09/18/2004

Consider participating in this informal online study group of the book "Too Perfect: When Being in Control Gets Out of Control" by Allan E. Mallinger, M.D. and Jeanette DeWyze, first published in 1992. It is readily available on both the new and used book markets:

Amazon.com (softcover, new)
http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/detail/-/0449908003

The amazon.com entry above lets you read sample pages and search the book by keyword. For example there are 15 references to "anger" in the book, on pages 11, 18, 30, 31, 38, 77, 95, 101, 113, 123, 125, 135, 137, 187, and 195, giving the full text from each of those pages. There are 8 references to "joy" on pages 4, 10, 40, 73, 92, 127, 169, 177.

Book reviews of "Too Perfect":

David Mays (1300 words)

Squalor Survivors (550 words)

I think the book should have been entitled "Understanding OCPD: The Nature of the Compulsive Personality" because that is what it is really about. You may contribute to any of the study group chapter threads at any time, the only requirement being you must first read that particular chapter before you comment on it. If you'd like to facilitate the activity of the group you are most welcome to volunteer to host a chapter by posting in the thread below. Once you've volunteered, study the chapter and then post an outline in a new thread which others can use to help themselves understand the chapter better.

Post on this thread to volunteer to host a chapter:
