WELCOME TO THE OUR HOUSE DIY CLUB!

DIY CLUB GUIDELINES

The Our House DIY Club has been around since 1998, in various different formats.  We hope that this new community version will be around for many years to come; but to ensure the best experience from the club, the following guidelines have been developed in consultation with members.  Please keep these guidelines in mind when using the club.

General warningIn order to send messages or contribute any information to the club, you must be a member; this prevents spamming of other members.   Any unsolicited advertising or promotion by companies will not be tolerated.   For classifieds, there is a "buy, sell, swap" area in the discussion boards; this is the only area where such information may be permitted.

While this site is predominately about asking for, and giving help and advice on DIY projects - lots of other topics are also explored - so join in and ask away!  Just keep it clean and keep it nice - no gouging, kicking, punching etc.

DIY CLUB MESSAGES:
a)  Subject lines:  when creating a new topic, try to make the subject line relevant and concise.  Remember that many members choose to receive the messages by email; appropriate subject headings help members process the mail more easily.  The first post MUST be made via the site and in the most relevant forum in order to keep the forums 'tidy', although you may receive your posts by email and reply to posts by email by clicking on 'Reply'.  Do not change the subject heading when replying as this will start a new thread.

b) Attachments: In order to minimise the risk of virus transmission, please make sure you have up to date anti virus protection on your PC in order to protect both you and the other members when sending or receiving attachments.  Alternatively, save them in the filing cabinet, photo album or recipe book as appropriate.

c)  Unsubscribing:  If you wish to unsubscribe from the DIY Club go to "Member tools" in the left-hand column of this site and change your membership status.

DIY PHOTO ALBUM:
The photo albums have been set up so that you can share your DIY successes (or failures!) with others, and to help explain further what you're referring to in your messages.  Please do not post general photos unrelated to the DIY topic; these will be removed without explanation or warning.  Please also try to keep the size of each photo below 30K, as there is limited space in the album.

FILE CABINET
Any files may be saved in the file cabinet.  If the file is large in size, please use a compression program such as WinZip to keep the file as small as possible; and when saving it, give it a meaningful name so that other members will understand what the file is.

ENJOY THE CLUB!
