And, if you will become a member of the site (see the internal page "link" at the top left side, where you can join), you can leave messages and/or announcements on the Message Board, put pictures on the "Pictures" page and all sorts of neat stuff like that.
And yes, it won't cost you a thing. We only ask that you behave in a responsible way and, hopefully, get involved in one or more worthwhile projects.
Here's How To Join
(In case you're not quite sure how it's done.)
You see that JOIN NOW web page link with the yellow background? It's on the upper left side of your screen. That's what you want to click on to get started.
When you do that you will notice that you are taken to a page that shows you 5 numbered steps. They are as follows:
( 1 ) NICKNAME. You'll want to think up a nickname to use to identify yourself with other members (if you leave messages on the Message Board, etc.) It might be a first name or a catchy creation of your own. If it's a fairly common name, you probably will be told to select a different one, because most regular names are already taken. Keep trying. You'll figure one out that will become yours alone.
( 2 ) E-MAIL. You'll want to enter the e-mail address you want to use to receive messages from other members of this site. You will also have a choice to make your e-mail address private, if you would care to do so.
( 3 ) MESSAGES. You can have messages sent to your own "Inbox" or receive a "Daily Digest" of all new messages or you can choose to just read whatever you want (or not) "On the Web" when you decide to visit this site online. I always prefer the last option.
( 4 ) MESSAGE TO MANAGER. Here is where you need to add a message about yourself and why you would like to join the web site.
( 5 ) CODE OF CONDUCT. You'll be glad to know there is a code of conduct that we are all expected to adhere to. Check it out and then click on the "I Accept" box.
Now you only need to click on the "JOIN NOW" button at the bottom and you're off and running. The manager of this site will get your request and process it. You may hear from him by e-mail or you may get a message of acceptance. If you are accepted (which you most likely will be), you will find your chosen nickname proudly placed on the right side of the top panel, just below the banner ad (that Microsoft places there to pay for the web site).
Also, if you use the Internet Explorer browser, you will find that "groups" will be on a special list there. When you click on it, you will be brought to another list that shows the PB Involvement web site (where you can click on it and go right to it). If you use a different browser or have a different kind of Home Page for your Internet travels, you can usually create a link with the address of this web site, so you can get to it whenever you want, very easily. And, of course, you can always resort to entering the full address in the appropriate space and then hit the "enter" key.
