The month previous to this reported month showed a master total of 227 crimes. This latest reporting period shows a whopping increase in reported crime in our area (see above). We had previously announced (in local public meetings and on a television interview) that these crime reports represent a genuine crime wave in Pacific Beach. All of our local print media (daily and weekly) have, so far, chosen to completely ignore the announcement and the frightening statistics accompanying the announcement.
It should also be noted that we attempted to have a cooperative association between the re-establishing P.B. Citizens Patrol and the Pacific Beach Town Council, but under the P.B. Council’s current leadership, that effort was not successful. Make sure that this patrol and community service project moves forward anyway. It is something that is desperately needed in our little community. Call Jonathan West at 858/488-8222 and become a part of the solution. Can we count on you?

IMPORTANT COMMUNICATIONS:
Once again our local daily paper is giving us only a selective part of what’s really going on. The headline in the "B" Section, on Sept. 1st, stated that "Violent Crimes Dip in S.D." What they are not telling you is that our own little Pacific Beach is in the middle of a crime wave that, this last month, continued the high levels of most crimes in our area, including increases in residential burglary and auto theft. Yes, some of the numbers have gone down for some crimes in our area, but others remain about the same and even those that are down this month still show totals that are way too high. That’s the real story.
The Pacific Beach Citizens Patrol continues to accept volunteers as it grows in form and substance. (Please call Jonathan West at 858/488-8222 to get involved.) It now has a Speakers Bureau, a wider distribution of these monthly crime reports, and there is now a great new web site that features the patrol and crime information, along with featuring other neighborhood groups and lots of valuable information and important reference materials you may want to see and print out. The new web site is the beginning of something very special for our beach community. The address is: and it’s an attractive, friendly and very interactive place you will want to be a part of.
The important thing to remember is that you can get involved. You can be a part of all of this. You can help to make a very positive difference in our area. Won’t you give us a call?

IMPORTANT COMMUNICATIONS:
Auto thefts still lead the pack with an ever-growing number of incidents. It’s a crime wave all by itself. After all, we are only talking about a one month period in a small 1 mile radius from the center of Pacific Beach. We need more law enforcement, better protection installed in vehicles, and we’ve got to get those night patrols started with the returning Pacific Beach Citizens Patrol. (We need YOU. Call Jonathan West at "American Communication Arts," 858/488-8222 and become a part of the volunteer patrol.)
The Patrol is planning on a number of activities this fall, including a public educational program that will help you learn basic self-defense for yourself and for your home and vehicles. Also the big Pacific Beach web site that was established for the Patrol, and for other neighborhood groups, has grown to 24 pages and features an enormous amount of information for and about our little beach community. You’ll find it all there waiting for you at and it’s where you can join in on the action.
A very important page on that site, at this time, is the page titled, "The District 2 Candidates." This is where you will find all their names listed WITH THEIR PHONE NUMBERS. We urge you to take advantage of this and give every one of them a call and tell them what’s important to you and ask them exactly where they stand. This is your great opportunity to have a real impact. Take full advantage of it. Make your voice heard.
Remember, it’s your community. It will be what you make of it. It’s up to you.
