PEEL ENGINEERING
and West Marine Ltd. Isle of Man.
Products of the talented designer/inventor Cyril Cannell, management and staff.

Photo taken during the lunch break at Ramsey, showing Jeff & Susan Lane who had brought their impeccable Trident all the way from The Lane Motor Museum, Nashville, Tennesse and completed a faultless lap of the T.T. Circuit. (photo by M.Buckler)

Very early Peel Engineering GRP bodyshell, believed to be designated the Mark1. Photo taken on the bridge at the top of Peel Harbour, leading from the Kipper smoke houses to the Peel Engineering boathouse. This body was designed for enthusiasts building Ford and similar Specials in the early 1950's. Two are known to have been used on Buckler cars. (Photo from the Malcolm Buckler collection.)

Parking warden's nightmare? The Peel P50 appears in the Guinness Book of Records as the smallest road legal car in the world. It even had a carry handle. The wheel configuration soon reverted to two wheels at the front and one at the rear.

A Peel P50 will soon be on permanent display at the excellent Manx Transport Museum, The Brickworks Office, Mill Road, PEEL, Isle of Man. Admission is free.

Peel Trident: Luxury from the same chassis and DKW 49cc engine but a later version used a more powerful Triumph 98cc scooter engine giving a top speed of over 45 m.p.h (75kph). Is this Triumph "Tina" or later T10 engine, in fact a Villiers?
Still on the Isle of Man, Cyril Cannell and key company members George Gelling and Ernie Leece still take an active interest in the history of the items which they so skillfully created.

World Champion motorcyclist Geoff Duke was test driver for Peel Engineering's superb "Manx Kart" in 1960.

Please feel free to join  but a reason for joining must be given and membership may take a few days to clear.

Then you can add any useful information or photos of Peel Products including Microcars, Manx Karts and boats. If you have difficulty in joining please email the webmanager. The Messages section will also provide a forum for  Peel car and boat owners and other interested persons.

You will find a particularly comprehensive LINKS section in the left margin. This should contain almost everything you need to know about Peel products but if you know of a good one that I have missed, I will be pleased to add it.

Depending on your PC set up, you may need to scroll left and right to extract all the information on this page.

Kipper, website manager.

A PEEL REGISTER is maintained by The Register of Unusual Microcars. Here you will find a definitive history and excellent photos of the marque. Please contact them if know of a Peel or of any Peel remains, parts or memorabilia.  http://www.rumcars.org
