On October 3rd 1978 a civilian passenger aircraft of Air Rhodesia registration VP-WAS was shot down by terrorists using a SAM7 missile. The route was Kariba in the Zambezi Valley to Salisbury, the capital city.

My book, Dawn of Terror, was based on these terrible happenings. Some of the crew and passengers survived the crash. The terrs arrived on the scene long before the security forces. Many survivors were massacred, some were raped.

Imagine surviving an aircrash and then having to witness the ordeal of fellow survivors.

I wasn't living in Rhodesia at the time but it was something that I felt very strongly about.

Please as we approach the 27th anniversary, spare a prayer for those slaughtered in the name of freedom. I know that I will.
