Hi Guys
I would imagine that you do not do this but pse also speak to friends and family.
My youngest son lives with his fiances in a rented flat. He has been brought up to love and worship dogs. He took in a rescue dog which he knew was being illtreated Billy is a x greyhound and needs a great deal of exercise. Kyle works 0700 to 1800 most days, his little lady 9 - 5. Often he works away from home.
Billy settled down OK to begin with but soon started to mark his territory throughout the flat. They could not get him to stop. In any other way he was a good tempered, affecionate dog and very obedient. The final straw came after almost 12 months when he soiled their bed.
I can understand them getting rid at High Peak Dog Rescue. I can see both sides. Even though Billy was not my dog I was quite close to him and it broke my heart as well as Pippa and Kyles. Kyle was deveated, I didnt see Pip but I know she was also upset. All I could say to Kyle weas that he had given Billy a years love that he would not have had wiyh his prevoius owner. How do you comfort someone who feels they have failed a pet?
I know when we had to leave our pets behind in Zimbabwe it ripped me apart and to this day I feel that a certain amount of my long term depression is linked to it.
If you dont worship your animals do not even try to fathom this out! Yoy need to be a REAL animal lover to appreciate the pain and heartache pets can bring! If you do not feel a tug at yr heart strings with this then tou have a ways to go yet. Losing a pet is akin to losing a human loved one and anyone who disagrees I will take to task as not a true believer in the pet kingdom.
Blessings.
