Struell Wells
Struell Wells, a fascinating area filled with several springs and ancient stone building, is located outside of Downpatrick. It was used as a healing place for a variety of different ailments. Those suffering from a specific type of illness used one of the different small stone buildings. There was one for skin, one for eyes, a general one for the men and another for the ladies. A small stone wall encircles the cluster of buildings. Outside of the wall are the ruins of a church. It is believed that St Patrick himself bathed here at these very wells before his death. I personally find the area very magical. The aura that surrounds the wells is so steeped with history Just think of how all those years ago hundreds of folk travelled to these very bath houses to bathe in its healing waters. Today the Wells are still used for their healing properties. I can certainly vooch for that. I also use the water for my magical work, the water from these wells is so powerful,
