Ultimate Valentine

My prayer for you
Is to have the ultimate Valentine
Know this Love that surpasses knowledge
Be filled up with the fullness of
God’s holy love is the ultimate Valentine.

All of my life I have waited
For the man of my dreams to come along
Then one sunny day in February
I realized that Jesus was there all along

Whispering in my ear “Be Mine”
Then I turned my face to His
And whispered back
“Sweet Jesus my Ultimate Valentine.”

PEACE

Tonight I write on this empty page,
Thinking of someone, I know not who
But someone who is meant
To know me

Why this longing to have someone
When aloneness is so much more
Peaceful
But still, my heart wants to have
It's own heart to hold

It is not lonely that I am, but
Missing something that makes
One whole

Searching for that mythical unicorn
Of soulmate, my soulmate
That longing for something not known
But knowing something is missing
Not knowing what it is
Until it is found

The Magician Inside

"Paint what you see."
He said to me.
As my mother's roses
so soft, sang loudly on his large canvas.
Their silky petals, beckoning
the handsome monarch butterfly,
who flew into the painting
with a mere wave of his brush.

Immortality,
he granted unknowingly.
He was a wizard of old,
a regular Merlin.
able to constructing objects of beauty
from empty space
and I his astounded apprentice
stood frozen, eyes unblinking.

"Now you try." He said.
I blinked.
Spell broken.
Brush in hand,
It was my turn to cast.

Still As I Wonder

Some days I wonder
Is God truly there?
I see evidence of Him in nature
But for me does He truly care?
Then one sweet day
A new friend comes my way.
I become still as I wonder
Upon God’s blessing then see
The evidence of His eternal care.

Camp Cherokee 2001
"Whatever"
August 5-10

Camp Cherokee is the place to be
When summer rolls around
Where Students & Jesus come to meet
Like stepping on Holy Ground.

Camp Pastor speaks of truth & unity
Joy & blessings from above
Guides us to live lives of integrity
Gives hope through God's grace & Love.

It's not about you or me
For Jesus is the King
Christ our savior is worthy
Of the worship that we sing.

And when our week is done
We soon anticipate the coming year
Hold fast decisions won
"Whatever It Takes" lingering still on air!

Camp Cherokee is the place to be
When summer rolls around
Where Students & Jesus come to meet
Like stepping on Holy Ground.

Dealing with sharks
by solo1

He thought he knew it all
With his rows and rows of teeth
He didn't see me coming
I slashed him underneath

I know that sharks don't talk
Or so I have read
But this one wrote a note
And this is what it said:

"An impasse we have reached,
As I cannot bite you
Nor can I talk with all these teeth
So I had to write you

Where do we go from here?
I'm bleeding profusely
I could be in trouble soon
(To use the term quite loosely)

So give it up, and go away
Your work here is done
I'm fading fast, my fins are low
My prospects are none."

I was not, however,
One to be so used,
Having seen his like before,
They are easily accused

They pretend to be dead
Or very very ill
They write pathetic little notes
And lie very very still

But when you turn your back
You've made your first mistake,
For then he'll bite your head off
And chomp it like a cake.

So never read the letters
Of submarine denizens
Or those long drawn-out epics
Of Alfred Lord Tennyson's.

Carnival Paradise

Sweet anticipation of this trip I was to sea.

A longing to fruition of a hope I could not see.

Peace of Joy my heart to sing blessings still untold.

Truth of dreams still to bring from

 Greatest hands unfold.

Faithful friends new and old understand the way to God and

Please

Remember when the journey done these days of awesome ease.

Sweet Anticipation

Understand God’s way for love and so

Wait patiently with restrained desire

For my soul matched one.
