PREVIEWS

31/03/08  Our guest speaker on the first night back is the literary manager and administrator of The First Draft Theatre Company, Theresa Brunskill.  This enterprising company started up a couple of years ago with the idea of involving new writers, directors and actors in the writing and putting on of new One Act plays.  Its unique feature is that the writer has only six weeks in which to work up the play from an interesting topical idea into a fully fledged play for a given cast to learn and perform in public.  Three of P-P's writer members have already got their work before the public in this way (and have found the process exciting and enjoyable) and Theresa is looking for more.  And for more actors, too.  So come along and listen up.  Following that we have some entries left over from the FRIENDS RE-UNITED Competition to perform and discuss.  So it should be an entertaining and interesting evening.

07/04/08  Tim Gambrell says of his play ONCE BITTEN, TWICE that it is about four people, one hostel, an accidental meeting and a relationship revisited.  This is a stage play about unrequited love, sudden change, decisions and living with the consequences.

14/04/08  David Roberts has bravely chosen a classic story, Bram Stoker's DRACULA, for his first shot at play-writing.  Exciting it definitely is.

21/04/08  Peter Briffa is back again with what he describes as Very Serious Stuff.  His stage play LOVE ME BACKWARDS is the tale of a doomed affair between a middle-aged man and a very young girl.  From the final, fatal ending to the nervous beginning we see the relationship unfold- in nine short scenes, told in reverse order.
