 Remote Viewing

In the wonderful world of paranormal research, remote viewing has become a popular subject. What exactly is remote viewing? It is the ability of people to describe remote locations and events correctly through the channels of perception. To simplify it, it is a way of gaining information without relying on the five senses. One form of RV involves a sender and a receiver. The sender tries to send the reciever information using telepathy. Another form involves the reciever trying to gain impressions without anyone sending any information.

The first controlled RV experiment was done as early as 550 BC. The writer describes how King Croesus, who was concerned about the Persians surrounding him, decided to send scribes to various oracles around Greece and Lydia. One hundred days after they left, the scribes asked the orcacles what the King would be doing on that day. After writing down the answers they then returned to the King and gave him their writings. After reading what had been said, the King determined that the oracle in Delphi had been correct. The scribes had copied the following verse:

I can count the sands and I can count the oceans. I have ears for the silent, and know what the dumb man nameth; Lo! On my snese there striketh the smell of a shell-covered tortoise. Boiling now on the fire, with the flesh of a lamb, in a cauldron. Brass is the vesel below and bross is the cover above it.

Not really what modern reasearchers would use as a target, however when you know that the king cooked a lamb and a tortoise in a brass pot, with a brass lid, it's very impressive indeed.

More recently in the '20s, psi researcher, Upton Sinclair, and his wife, Mary Craig Sinclair, cunducted more than 100 experiments in which Upton would draw a picture and his wife would replicate. Mr. Sinclair found that his wife would sometimes draw the picture correctly but then wouldn't correctly identify it. Other times Mrs. Sinclair would draw images which weren't what was drawn, but which Mr. Sinclair had been thinking about.

If you think that remote viewing is something to be taken lightly, guess again! The US military and intelligence organizations have been doing research. It is estimated that in 1995 the government spent about $20 million on RV funding.

From as early as the 1920s until perhaps the 1970s, many good examples of paranormal research were conducted behind the Iron Curtain. Many of these were scientific in nature. If perfected, RV could become an important weapon in military intelligence. It would provide information about important targets, plus it would be more cost effective than satellites.

There is quite a bit of controversy over these studies. A lot information is still classified. One report from the CIA, requested by Congress, concluded that the results did not justify the continued use of RV in intelligence gathering. However, the report has been criticized by those who took part in the project. Many disagree with the conclusion that the report came to.

Remote viewing has come a long way since it was used by those who came generations before us. There is now good evidence published by journals from many universities throughout the world. Many former US remote viewers run workshops on RV for different industries.

When we understand more of how the process of RV works, it will be a huge breakthrough. One exciting possibility is learning more about distant galaxies or planets
