Use Photo Shop or similar program to prepare your pics. If pic is a bit dark or light you can change its appearence with these programs.
Pics should be saved as .jpg (not as .tif, .gif or .btm)
Name your pic after someone in the photo ie:- Robert Parker.jpg (do not use an under_score to join the words together.) Using a proper name helps the search engines locate this website.
To rename a pic highlight the name by clicking once on it, then right click your mouse button, go down to Rename and click, then type in the new name and then click outside the box to save.
Keep the pic name short. If more than one pic is of the same person, name them thus:- Robert Parker 01.jpg - Robert Parker 02.jpg ect. ect. This will allow the pics in your folder to stay sorted correctly (note the use of two numbers in the name). (Note: you can't just rename a pic from say, a .btm to a .jpg it has to be done with a Photo Shop type program.) (Note: do not use + or . or any other similar character in the name as they will prevent the pic from functioning when up-loaded)
Pics should be saved into a file folders located on your hard drive called:- C:/My Documents/My Pictures.
You can create Sub Directories Folders under My Pictures, say:- /Cabin Crew or /Aircraft or /Family which will help keep the pics in order. You can do this by clicking on Start - Programs - Windows Explorer - File - New - Folder and then naming the folder.
Pics need to be under 30kb for web pages to load them quickly (under 20kb is best) to compress .jpg pics you need Photo Shop or a similar program. If you do not have a Photo Shop type program, email the pic to the Webmaster who will compress it for you then email it back to you to up-load.
Your pics are now ready to up-load to the community, go to the next tutorial.
