| Thanks for setting up the website. I'm enjoying reading it and getting into it. Sent Dennis the photo of you feeding the birds and the one of Bruno in the white uniform onboard a 707. Aloha, Jerry P.S. Interesting, back in l967 when I was based at Hickam in Hawaii I flew the Qantas 707-l38 V-Jet to SFO and YVR and the crew were wearing the white uniform that Burno is wearing in the photo. I had no idea that Qantas employed men and thought this is the airline I am going to work for when I get out of the service, little did I know it would be a hard row in that being American it was a no no to just go and fly with them but hey, I did it and loved every minute of it. Of special interest, I was collecting airline silver at the time (I ended up with service for l7 from different airlines) and asked the steward (could have been you) if I could keep the cutlery, and he said, "I didn't see a thing sir." I thought what classy people those Aussies are. Of course back then, I had never heard things like "fall through your arse." and the many other Aussie things I have learned in my 29 years here in this country and use every day. Had a night in YVR and came home to HNL on Canadian Pacific's brand new DC-8 Super 63 "Empress of Honolulu". What I would really like to know is toward my last days in HNL I was on the tarmac meeting the 707 and the crew got off from the back and I was so excited I said to them, I got the job you're doing and I'm going to be a steward with Qantas. One guy and I shall never forget his words though I never knew his name looked at me very seriously and said "we are going to give you Hell." Could have been you but I doubt it. To this day and all through my career I wondered who it was that said that to me and I wonder did I ever fly with him? No one ever really gave me Hell, I enjoyed my job and for the most part everyone was great to me. Must say, I have Qantas to thank for everything in my life |

This is really the way to stay " in touch"with people that played such a large
part of who we became in later life.I enjoy just popping in to see who has
joined and remember an easier time. Keep up the hard work it is great

Comment :- I only flew with QF for three years or so, but it changed my life, in
that it broadened my focus. As a result I have lived outside Australia - in the
Philippines and Hong Kong - for more than 20 years. I went to a reunion in
Sydney in 1993, and think I may go again this year or next.
Meanwhile, congratulations on setting up the site. I hope it gets the support it
deserves!
