My husband was diagnosed with myelofibrosis three years ago. He also had breast cancer. Surgery was done three years also. After breast cancer two years he was doing okay. Last year he was getting sicker. His spleen is swollen, RBC is low. Last month he started to get procrit shot and Dr. put him with Thelamid. He lost a lot of weight. He has gout because of this problem. I am so helpless. Has any one had any experience like this? How can he gain some weight and get more energy? He is extremely weak.

This sounds very much like what the harm of 2-butoxyethanol would be. With the swollen spleen, the lowering RBC ... procrit shots to help make the red blood cells. May I ask when THE FATIGUE hit and what he was doing then? This n-butyl ether is the cause of a lot of harm, but it is not a fully recognized problem . Lot's of things besides it, get blamed since the 1930s. Many cancers are caused by it, in my opinion, but it seldom gets blamed for any thing, by medical science in the US. I hope lef.org will help with a study of it.  The primary problem is an AUTOIMMUNE problem.  Stop this and avoid any exposure to 2-butoxyethanol type chemical and you will have helped your husband (& you, too).
