| My husband was diagnosed with myelofibrosis three years ago. He also had breast cancer. Surgery was done three years also. After breast cancer two years he was doing okay. Last year he was getting sicker. His spleen is swollen, RBC is low. Last month he started to get procrit shot and Dr. put him with Thelamid. He lost a lot of weight. He has gout because of this problem. I am so helpless. Has any one had any experience like this? How can he gain some weight and get more energy? He is extremely weak. |
| This sounds very much like what the harm of 2-butoxyethanol would be. With the swollen spleen, the lowering RBC ... procrit shots to help make the red blood cells. May I ask when THE FATIGUE hit and what he was doing then? This n-butyl ether is the cause of a lot of harm, but it is not a fully recognized problem . Lot's of things besides it, get blamed since the 1930s. This chemical is more probably the cause of harm to the Vietnam vet, too, than Dioxin which gets the 'credit' for it. http://forum.lef.org//default.aspx?f=41&m=22443&p=1#m23140 |

Could he still be doing something that would expose him to this chemical? If so, he must STOP the exposure.
Again, if so, his immune system is attacking himself. It is an autoimmune issue. Ask the doctor if the red blood cells are immature and if there is blood in urine.
With enlarged spleen, I suspect a current exposure to a chemical that could have started everything in the first place.
Ask him all of these questions & take the list to the doctor ... he should have several of these things going on prior to the cancer starting up. You need to understand this whole picture, if so, and so do the doctors.
I would suspect weight loss being from concerns with the liver, but of course it might be something else. I just know that this chemical also directly targets the liver and kidneys and any gland it wants to; but the bone marrow is the first thing that is damaged: all immune cells are made in the bone marrow, and they become autoimmune; and the red blood cells are the part of the body that they start destroying: (first and ALWAYS)
this will be the biomarkers, if you please;
the common denominator.
If the red blood cells are immature, then white blood counts are reading too high, liver counts are reading higher than they should. Have the doctor check the red blood cells; because if they are immature, other tests have to be adjusted. The computer version will be inaccurate.
PS, I have also heard a man share with me that he had male breast cancer. Because the list of harm that 2-butoxyethanol does, and a list that said, "and other maternal effects" I was wondering if some of the breast cancers are caused by this chemical. (Of course most of the time people think of breast cancer as a female issue)
I have a friend in IL who has been getting procrit shots for her low red blood cell counts. We discussed her favorite cleaning compound and it was
Lysol Tub 'n Tile. That alone could have caused her aching joints, fatigue, low RBC, recent high blood pressure, high blood sugar. Right now doctor doesn't know what to do. She was told to just go to ER, they couldn't work her in ... She is not well. Anyone know a doctor interested in this that she could get to? She lives in Alton, IL
Why I learned about 2-butoxyethanol
