A SUPERSTAR IS BORN!

 

Roland Rat was born on 12th March in a King's Cross Sewer in London to Freddy and Iris Rat. This humble abode later became known as the Rat Cave where all the rat gang would hang out. Roland always knew deep down he was a genius and was destined to grow up to become the most famous rat in television history.

However this superstar rodent had no formal education... well he's a rat isn't he! Roland's dad Freddy spent most of his life in the London Paladium working as one of twenty rats that turned the revolving stage when needed. So naturally Roland had showbiz blood running through his veins. So in 1983 when he heard about a useless morning show called TV-AM that was about to close he went and offered his services, they were refused...so he built a shed on the roof of the studios and broadcast his first series, and the rest as they say is history spread over twenty five years ! More than 400 half hours of programming, hundreds of merchandised toys, books, clothing, hit records and along with the many awards showered on this 80's icon certainly prove this rodent certainly has staying power!!!!
