Learn to make a Green Scapular Step-by-Step

Assemble your  materials on a clean work surface: Green Felt or Wool, green cord, iron-on scapular face and back patches, sharp scissors, ruler, iron -  no steam.

Set Iron to wool setting. Iron full length of cord and green felt squares. Our Kit comes with pre-cut squares. If you are working with bulk cloth, cut squares with pinking shears measuring

1  1/2   x   2  inches.

Cut cord for each scapular, 1 1/4 inches.
Fold cord in half, slightly offset center
to form a tab as shown.

Position the tab under the center of the iron-on  face of  the scapular. Iron in place. Do not move iron back and forth over  iron-on patch.

Hold iron steady in place while praying:

Immaculate Heart of Mary, pray for us now
and at the hour of our death. Amen.

This is just enough time for the heat of the iron to melt the adhesive of  the patch to the fabric. If white adhesive melts onto felt on the outside edges of the patch, the iron is too hot. Adjust accordingly.

Repeat the same process for the reverse side of the scapular. The tab is placed under the image of the Virgin Mary. No tab is used on the reverse.

With sharp scissors,

trim away any stray threads or fibers.

Congratulations!

You have just completed your first Green Scapular.

Thank you

for becoming a Scapular Maker

for Our Lady!
