Joining / Membership as a whole

a  When joining a local Crew it is suggested a short term (3) three weekly visits allowing the person to decide if they wish to join
b  Whereas a Lone Rover may join by completing an application/membership form -- either posted or downloaded from the net
c  It would be helpful if those wanting to join, e-mail or post a copy of scout/training progress card, however this is not compulsory
d  Membership shall be open to all persons of either gender, aged from 16yr. to 65yr’s. A person can stay within the Association up to any age with the discretion of the L.C. in the capacity of affiliated member or indeed, an instructor
e  It would be courteous to inform IHQ of any agreement
 f

Rights to membership. The HQ Committee has the right to veto any local decision on any member (Exclusion can be asked for as an option) ultimately the decision is left to the L.C., Local HQ To exclude someone from membership will need to be backed up with good and proper cause

g  There need be no ceremony on entering into membership, but if the L.C., Local HQ. or the Squire would like to uphold traditional methods, i.e., Investiture this will be acceptable. Information on this ceremony is noted later in this booklet
