Dear Dr. Yacht:

Attached herewith is my response to your e-mail message dated May 29, 2002, itself in response to my letter of May 28, 2002.  As noted in the letter, I am giving it the broadest possible distribution, and for that reason, I offer the following cast of characters for those who do not know any of you from Adam:

Marc J. Yacht, M.D., M.P.H. is Director, Pasco County Health Department, Florida Department of Health.  He joined the health department in early 1987 as Director of Epidemiology and as Assistant Director, and received his appointment as Director c. the summer of 1988.  I, Kimberly A. Blevins, worked with and for him from June 1987 to July 1996.

Charles S. Mahan, M.D., was appointed state health officer in Florida in early 1988 and remained in that role, by whatever title, until early 1995, when he became dean of the state of Florida's only accredited school of public health, the College of Public Health, University of South Florida, by which time I had been working at the College for nearly a year in helping set up the first distance-based degree program to be offered by an accredited school of public health.  In my role as Director, Distance Learning, I report (present tense) to the dean of the college.

Phillip J. Marty, Ph.D., was acting dean of the college during the search for dean, and then became Executive Associate Dean.  He was my direct supervisor 1994 to 1997, and remains my functional supervisor, along with Dr. Elizabeth Gulitz, USF's unlawfully cutting off my pay and benefits as of May 22, 2001, over a year ago notwithstanding.

I have entitled my response, "...you forgot to mention I am precious..." for reasons obvious therein.

Anyone thinking about asking to be removed from this e-mail distribution list -- though few and far between -- is hereby referred to the following URL:  http://communities.msn.com/RuthElvadaDennistonBlevins/levinson52202.msnw    which should give you an idea of what my response will likely be if you make such a request directly of me.

Sincerely,

Kimberly A. Blevins, CPS, BIS, MPH
