Who we are and what we are here for:
The Sacred Heart Community is composed of individuals from different corners of the world voluntarily coming together to: a) know more, share, and deepen their Catholic faith; b) seek and provide spiritual and moral support to one another in their respective life journey; c) foster Christian brotherhood, and; d) evangelize the Word of God by electronic means. It is a community fully subject to God's Word, nourished by Jesus Christ, empowered by the Holy Spirit, guided by the Blessed Virgin Mary, and inspired by Saint Joseph.
In other words, the Sacred Heart Community is a FAMILY that participates in building the Kingdom of God here on earth.
Yes, we are a FAMILY that: --
-
put Christ at the center of our lives, focus and reflect on His teachings, and model ourselves on His gifts;
-
attentive to the signs of the presence of the Spirit in our time; however the Spirit may appear;
-
aware of the ardous and difficult journey many people face today; of humanity's almost unsupportable suffering; and a family sincerely sharing in the pain of each member with a desire to console;
-
bring the liberating and encouraging Word of the Gospel to those who are heavily burdened, while always remembering the words of Jesus:
And he said, "Woe to you scholars of the law! You impose on people burdens hard to carry, but you yourselves do not lift one finger to touch them." (Luke 11:46)
-
able and willing to seek out the "new poor" and not too preoccupied about failing in our efforts to help them in a creative way;
-
do not privilege any one category of persons, welcoming old and young alike. We are a family that educate and form all our members to faith and love;
-
humble of heart and closely united in the discipline of the Catholic Church, and;
-
patiently, objectively and realistically discern our relationship with the world, especially today's society. We are a family that strive for active participation and responsible presence.
