Before I introduce myself and since I'm the first one listed on this page , I would like to remind our visitors that there are 5 artists listed per page. Please click the "next" button at the top right of this window to view more Santamakers! ~ Thank You! "Yes, I still believe in Santa Claus"...I live and work on the banks of the Tygart Valley River near the small community of Colfax, West Virginia. I have been a Santa artist since 1986 that is when my business Mountain Elves was born. I am a self-taught artist and web designer. I founded the "Santamakers email group" in 1996 as a way to connect with other Santa Claus Artists. At the time, there was very few of us on the web! Six years later and thanks to over 150 fellow Santamakers, we have created a world wide support group! I also run a group for West Virginia artists called ARTWV I have served as one of ten members of the Tamarack Advisory Board for West Virginia's Art Center in Beckley, WV. Tamarack is the nation's first and only statewide collection of handmade craft, art and cuisine showcasing "The Best of West Virginia" and represents over 2000 West Virginia artist and craftsmen. About My Santas: Mountain Elves figures are one-of-a-kind creations. By drawing on my lifelong affection for Santa Claus , I create my own versions of Santa. The unique designs are the result are my interpretation of Christmas legends and customs from around the world. Through the years, I have added new creations to the Mountain Elves Collection that include Christmas tree ornaments, wool roving Santa's and other Christmas related collectibles.
I have been known on the web since early in 1996 as the "Santalady". My santas are mainly of the "olde world" style. They stand around 26 inches tall and have porcelain features, full body with poseable arms. Much of my work is "custom" from family fur s or wedding gowns. My site is a treasure-trove of Victorian Christmas, so please come visit.

I have been in business for eight years and have just joined the web site community after doing years of various craft shows up and down the east coast. My love for the christmas holidays had inspired me to collect santa dolls for myself and the loss of my mother in a car accident inspired me to create my own santas. I made a MEMORY for my brother and myself out of our mothers favorite old red robe. Family and friends admired my crafting and ordered a MEMORY for themselves. My santas have evolved over the years and I am still creating unique designs. The santas are both traditional and theme. I use quality materials and re-cycled vintage furs and clothing. Special attention is given to the details of the clothing and accessories. Visit my web site and maybe I can make a MEMORY for you. LYNNE
Northwind Studio is located in a small town in S.E. Ohio. We have a 40 acre farm where we raise Paint Horses, Angus Cattle, and Lincoln Sheep. Santa making is my hobby that has spun out of control over the last 10 years.
Each Northwind creation is a one of a kind. No two are ever alike. The faces and hands are sculpted out of polymer clay. Their beards are fashioned from the wool of our Lincoln Lambs raised here on the farm. Sizes range from 18 inches to life size, depending on the order. No Santa is complete until he talks to me!
Each wired, soft sculpted body is individually posed. Clothing and accessories are hand made from natural and vintage materials. Much of my time is spent combing antique stores for vintage velvets, laces, leathers, furs and ribbons. I also take orders for memory Santas that are created from vintage family heirlooms.
Every Santa is signed and numbered, with special care instructions included as mice and moths are their worst enemies!
I hope you enjoy them as much as I do. Each one is special to me!
Merry Christmas,
Kate Phillips
