 Information for New Santamaker Members

Ok.. you found this community ....  NOW WHAT??
I hope the following information helps you get started!
Please read through this whole page so you will understand
some of the settings you will be asked to choose once you join!

After you click Join Now...  You'll get a .NET passport...or sign into an existing passport.  Then, you'll be taken to the "Join Santamakers" page.  You will be asked to enter a nickname.  (You can change this nickname later, if necessary..see below where it says View Your Member Profile)  This nickname will show up whenever you post a message on the board and will be what most of us will come to know you by...so remember that when you choose a nickname!  You'll enter an email address, *choose how to receive messages, and accept the code of conduct....then you will hit the JOIN NOW button.   Here's the good news...you can access all of this information and change it, if necessary!

Very Important!!  Under Messages...if you choose Inbox or Digest, you will receive all messages posted on the message board  IN YOUR EMAIL INBOX!   Getting messages in your inbox is the best way to keep up on what's happening, but if you do not want Santamakers messages coming by email, you can choose read the message board online, at the community site... to do this, you must choose On The Web!! You can always change your preferences later, by using the Members Tools link.

TO ACCESS YOUR PERSONAL SETTINGS - You will find Member Tools at the bottom of the menu to the left.  This is where you can set up your profile....and change the information you entered when you first joined!

Under View Member List, you can look at the list of members, view their profiles, and see who the managers are.

Under View Your Member Profile, you can change your nickname, edit your profile, see how much storage space you have left  (for images, etc) or cancel your membership.

Under View Your Email Settings, you can change your email address, choose how you read the message board messages, choose how often you get community reports, set your email notifications..and set your email preference.

There are also options to View the Community Settings, Invite Others to Join, Send a Message to the Community, and Email the Managers.

When you join the community, you are asked to fill out a member profile...the more you include here, the better!  Tell us a little about yourself..include your e-mail address if you'd like to receive the email I send out every so often to announce events (chat, challenges, etc).  Include your MSN messenger ID (or AIM or whatever you have) if you'd like to talk to other members.(only members may read the profile information..and you can set your email address to only be available to the distribution list, which means no one sees it but you get the email, if you wish)

 Please Note...

There has been an increase in "Spam" being posted to our group forum.   This is most often done by programs that automatically "Join" a group then post the advertisments.   To keep our forum clean and unlittered by these ads, managers will delete the entries and cancel the membership of obvious, non-doll related, advertisments.

There is a slight possibility that such a posted could be put on the list in error by a legitimate member.  Managers will do their best to check on this before deleting a membership but should your membership be cancelled due to such a circumstance, you will have our sincere apologies!   Please simply re-join the group as you would be welcome with open arms!

If your browser is MSN Explorer or Internet Explorer 4.0 or later on Windows, you can use the "rich text tool" to add fun and color to your messages, lists, and calendar events. Add images with a click of a button. To view the help file on using the Rich Text Tool and see all it does, Click Here.   If you want to edit the HTML directly, select the check box Use HTML to create your page at the bottom of the page.

Directions and on "How to add a picture" to your messages, bio etc... are posted on the Pictures Tips/Rules page. It's easy!

There is a photo album page... if you have photos of your work you would like to share, create an album for yourself and upload your photos.  If you need help with this process, feel free to email me! You may also attach a picture file to your message on the message board.

What's New tells you which pictures, messages, and members are new.

Community Events are listed on our calendar  or on the events/classes  page.

Artists Webpages Please add your website address if you have one (commercial or personal) to the Artists Webpages  page.  When you post your website...please include your name (or nickname) so we know whose site it is! (you can edit your post if you have already put it
up there)  Sometimes we don't connect everyone's real name with the name they use here.. Thanks!!

Under Forums/Groups you will find the links and information on the Santamakers email group and the Delphi Santamakers Forum.

You will find a community message board in the links.  Members post messages with questions, information and a variety of other topics. You can go to the message board and post or your message or email you message and it will be posted to the "General topic" board using the following address: SantaMakers@communities.msn.com

After logging in, you can view the Communities you belong to, storage and more by clicking on "My Communities" at the top left of the window.

Most of the remaining pages are pretty self-explanatory.  Post information, links, etc that you think the members may be interested in. (Regarding content, this community is not restricted..meaning you don't have to be 18 to view it..please keep that in mind when posting!)  If you have any questions, please ask.

Again, let me welcome you to the Santamakers Community. I look forward to seeing your work on this site!  Suggestions and questions are always welcome!!

"Santamakers" is currently looking for members interested in becoming Asst. Managers or Forum Moderators. If you would like to give it a try and would be interested in help making the Santamakers Community become a great resource, please:
