The Jeffrey Modell Foundation (JMF) is a non-profit research foundation devoted to primary immune deficiency.  When a defect in the immune system is inherited  (carried through the genes), it is called primary or inherited immune deficiency.

Jeffrey Modell was a child with an inherited immunodeficiency. He was often as we hope to see all children: happy and healthy, enjoying life with family and friends. But these normal times contrasted poignantly with recurrent battles against high fevers, strange blood counts, nausea, and other symptoms for which no cause could be determined by the leading doctors at the best hospitals.
