SARIMAH IBRAHIM

 

Sarimah Ibrahim is known as one of Malaysia's most talented and versatile entertainers.

Born of Malay-Irish-Italian-Indonesian parentage, and quintessentially acknowledged as an experienced emcee/TV host, Sarimah Ibrahim is also an award-winning singer and actress. Fluent in English and Bahasa Malaysia,this talkative, philosophical and independent entertainer  captured the heart of the nation long before she even knew it.

Sarimah Ibrahim started her illustrious career back in 1995 at a tender age of 17 via a children's entertainment show on TV2 entitled  The Attic Show.

Her candour, effervescence and quick wit caught the nation's attention, and before long, Sarimah Ibrahim was catapulted into the limelight.

After her stint with .The Attic show, Sarimah Ibrahim was then offered a chance to host programmes such as kids@ntv7, an educational/entertainment programme targeted at kids, RIM Chart Show, a Malaysian music chart show which were both televised on ntv7, Malaysia's 4th television show that Sarimah Ibrahim helped launch back in 1997; and also the Disney Channel on ASTRO.

As if hosting television programmes wasn't enough, Sarimah Ibrahim then ventured into the world of film making. Making her debut in Aziz M. Osman's  Puteri Impian 2, Sarimah Ibrahim captivated fans and critics alike; the latter who then nominated for Best Actress in a Supporting Role at Filem Festival Malaysia later in the year.

Her success in her movie debut opened up even more doors, and Sarimah Ibrahim was then given more opportunities to pursue the world of films by appearing in criticallyacclaimed and top-grossing movies such as Janji Diana, MX3 and also Gerak Khas III.

Sarimah Ibrahim's cross-over appeal in both television and film also gave her the opportunity to venture into another aspect of entertainment that she had always loved - singing.

Her self titled debut album was released in 2002, and it spawned hit songs such as Kini Kau Tiada/Now That You're Gone., You Told Me,  and  Damai. Her success in the music industry also saw her garner a few awards at the following year's AIM (Anugerah Industri Muzik) awards, where she was ultimately crowned Best New Artiste and also crowned Best new Artist at Anugerah Era the in same year. Apart from hosting, acting and singing, Sarimah Ibrahim has also been a popular face in television commercials, appearing for brands such as Sprite, Hexos Sweets, Telekom Malaysia and Laurier. Sarimah has also endorsed international brands such Clairol Herbal Essences, Ribena, Lexmark and Red Tone International . 

She has hosted a multitude of entertainment shows, most notably being the annual Anugerah Juara Lagu awards (2002 & 2003), Entertainment Now (2004), The Force of Nature Concert (2006), Prelude Kemuncak AIM (2006) and Galaksi (2007).

Sarimah Ibrahim's recent success at hosting ASTRO RIA's highly-rated Fail Sulit AF and AKADEMI FANTASIA'S DIARY HOST has provided her the opportunity to join ASTRO's family of exclusive presenters.

There's no stopping Sarimah Ibrahim; a talented individual who's considered one of Malaysia's few triple-threats - a versatile entertainer that can host, act and sing/dance.

Sarimah Ibrahim's future is bright, and she will remain a staple in the Malaysian entertainment scene for many more years to come.

Currently pursuing her Bachelor's Degree in Psychology at local institution on top of her various engagements, Sarimah Ibrahim also enjoys karate, working out at the gym, pilates, karaoke and dancing in her spare time.
