Mike Lewis, 7th-Dan
| About Lewis-Shihan Kaicho, Seishin-Do Karate Seishoku-Kai. Shodai Kaicho, U.S. Operations Headquarters, KFCI. Honbucho, Promotion Board, Karate for Christ-Intl.
Lewis-Shihan is a Christian and family man. He lives in Norfolk, Va. with his wife and two children. He's a member of Tabernacle church of Norfolk. Norfolk, Va. He's been training in the Japanese Arts of Ging ryu ShuHaRi Shito-Ryu, Goshin-Budo, Iaido, Motobu-ha Shito-Ryu, and Kuniba-ha Shito-Ryu since August of 1980.
On 31 Oct 2002, with the Lord's leading, he founded the Seishin-Do Karate Seishoku-Kai and brought to it his 24 years of Karate-do training, and along with him came his system of Christian Karate-do which he named, Kirisuto Kyoto-ha ShuHaRi Shito-Ryu. see [ Name and Style]
On 5 May 2003, Lewis-Shihan and the Seishoku-Kai was accepted into the membership of the Alabama based worlds largest Christian Martial Arts Ministry Organization, Karate for Christ International, on 20 April 2003, the Kai became a part of its home church ministry program.
In December of 2003, Lewis-Shihan completed his Theology course of study, Teaching the Bible to Others from Master's Divinity School and received the Certificate of Continuing Studies Award. Added to this blessings, the Lord has blessed the Seishoku-Kai, by growing the Honbu-Dojo membership to over 75 active enrolled students, 5 associate member schools in the U.S.A., and one International associate member school in South America (Venezuela). He too, is currently the Shihan-Dai (Assistant Master Instructor) for the Ging Ryu ShuHaRi Shito-Ryu Karate-do Union, under Frederick I. Thomason-Kyoshi.
On 18 Sep 04, he was given an Honorary promotion to Nana-Dan (7th Degree), and appointed to the position of Fuku-Kaicho (Vice-President), Karate for Christ-Intl. He was also recognized as the Head of Seishin-Do Karate Seishoku-Kai, and the KirisutoKyoto-ha ShuHaRi Shito-Ryu Style of Karate-Do, by the President of Karate for Christ Int'l, thereby, appointing him Director of the Ranking Board of Karate for Christ Int'l. He too, was appointed Head of the Japanese Martial Arts Division and Advisor for Karate for Christ-Int'l. [ Karate for Christ-Int'l ]
On 18 May 2005, he was the special guest speaker of the Baccalaureate service for East Bladen High School (North Carolina) graduating class.
On 20 Aug 05, he was promoted to Kaicho (President), KFCI, U.S. Operations HQ. On 1 October 2005, he was Honored by being inducted into the Karate for Christ International, Hall of Fame. Thereby, becoming the 9th person, inducted into the KFCI Black Belt Hall of Fame.

As a former Federal Law Enforcement Officer of 15 years with the U.S. Department of Defense, he attended and completed a number of law enforcement training schools, to include but not limited to:

 As a Law Enforcement Academy Instructor, Lewis-Shihan taught such subjects as, The History of Law Enforcement, Law Enforcement Ethics, The Use of Force, Officer Safety, The Law of Search and Seizure, and Street Survival.
Specifically, Lewis-Shihan's Karate-do training helped at placing him at the pentacle in the area of self-defense instructing. He was the academy's Lead Defensive Tactics, Tactical Handcuffing, and Special Operations Hand-to-Hand Combat Instructor. He was responsible for the development and implementing of specialized Law Enforcement Defensive Tactics and Military Special Ops Hand-to-Hand Combat Training Programs. He too, was a member of Commander Naval Regional, Mid-Atlantic Force Protection Exercise Unit (Homeland Security).
