Spirited Hearts

We stand together in support of our team
united, committed, one motive one dream.
What we do is different unlike all the rest,
but somehow the same when we all try our best.

We don't use a bat, a ball, or a net,
just determination, and muscle, endurance, and sweat.
We cheer because we love the thrill of the game,
to motivate the crowd-nothing else is the same.

So don't call us ditzy, and don't call us cute,
lose the misconceptions, seek out the truth.
Our spirit is endless, our hearts filled with pride,
please look past the stereotype and see the athlete inside.

Everyone's a winner
If that is what they choose,
Unless their choice is not to win,
Then of course they lose.

Winners always have ideas,
While losers fix the blame,
The two might seem alike but
They sure don't think the same.

All winners have a dream,
Of what they want to do,
They plan a life to reach their goal,
To make their dream come true.

Losers see a problem,
in every good idea,
All a winner sees is another chance,
to further their career.

Magic

      Sandra's seen a leprechaun,
      Eddie touched a troll,
      Laurie danced with witches once,
      Charlie found some goblins' gold.
      Donald heard a mermaid sing,
      Susy spied an elf,
But all the magic I have known
      I've had to make myself.

      The Voice

There is a voice inside of you
          That whispers all day long,
"I feel that this is right for me,
I know that this is wrong."
          No teacher, preacher, parent, friend
          Or wise man can decide
What's right for you -- just listen to
          The voice that speaks inside.

      -Shel Silverstein

      THE COMPUTER PRAYER

      Every evening
      laying here in bed,
      This little prayer running
      through my head.

God bless my mom and dad
      and bless my little child
please take care of my spouse
when he's out that long ride...

God there's one more little thing
I hope that you can do
hope you don't mind me askin'
      "PLEASE" bless my puter too?

I know that it's not normal
      to bless a mother board
      but listen just a second
      I'll explain to you,"Lord"

You see, that little metal box
holds more than odds and ends
      inside those small components
      live hundreds of my "FRIENDS"

Some it's true I've never seen
      and most I've never met
      we've never shaken hands
      or shared a smile yet...

I know for sure they like me
by the kindness that they give
and this little scrap of metal
is how I get to where they live.

By faith is how I know them
much the same as i know you
I share what life does bring them
      from that our friendships grew.

      "PLEASE" take an extra minute
      from your duties up above...
to bless this hunk of metal
that's filled with so much love.

      IT WILL BE DONE

When you can envision it, it can be done.
When you can see yourself doing it, it can be done.
When you are committed, it can be done.
When all the world says you can't, and yet you still
      believe, it can be done.
When you keep your eye on the goal, it can be done.
When you find a reason, deep within yourself, it can be done.
When you truly want it, it can be done.
When you develop a step-by-step plan, it can be done.
Follow your vision, and it can be done.
Stay focused, and it can be done.
When you know you can, it can be done.
Even when obstacles stand in your way, it can be done.
      It can be done...
      But WILL it be done?
      That's entirely up to you.
When you step forward, and do whatever it takes, it WILL be done.

      Don't Quit

When things go wrong, as they sometimes will,

When the road you're trudging seems all up hill,

When the funds are low, and the debts are high,

And you want to smile, but you have to sigh,

When care is pressing you down a bit,

Rest if you must, but don't you quit.

Life is queer with its twists and turns,

As everyone of us sometimes learns,

And many a failure turns about,

When he might have won had he stuck it out.

Don't give up though the pace seems slow,

You may succeed with another blow.

Success is failure turned inside out,

The silver tint of the clouds of doubt,

And you never can tell how close you are,

It may be near when it seems so far,

So stick to the fight when you're hardest hit,

      It's when things seem worse,

      that you must not quit

      Something to think about:

I went to a party, Mom, I remembered what you said.
You told me not to drink, Mom, so I drank soda instead.
I really felt proud inside, Mom, the way you said I would.
I didn't drink and drive, Mom, even though the others said I should.
I know I did the right thing, Mom, I know your always right.
Now the party is finally ending, Mom, as everyone is driving out of sight.
As I got into my car, Mom, I knew I'd get home in one piece.
Because of the way you raised me, so responsible and sweet.
I started to drive away, Mom, but as I pulled out into the
road, the other car didn't see me, Mom, and hit me like a
      load.
I started to drive away, Mom, but as I pulled out
into the road, the other guy is drunk, Mom, and now I'm the one who will pay.
I'm lying here dying, Mom.. I wish you'd get here soon.
How could this happen to me, Mom? My life just burst like
      a balloon.
There is blood all around me, Mom, and most of it is mine.
I hear the medic say, Mom, I'll die in a short time.
I just wanted to tell you, Mom, I swear I didn't drink.
It was the others, Mom. The others didn't think.
He was probably at the same party as I.
The only difference is, he drank and I will die.
Why do people drink, Mom? It can ruin your whole life.
I'm feeling sharp pains now. Pains just like a knife.
The guy who hit me is walking, Mom, and I don't think it's fair.
I'm lying here dying and all he can do is stare.
Tell my brother not to cry, Mom. Tell Daddy to be brave.
And when I go to heaven, Mom, put "Daddy's Girl" on my
      grave
Someone should have told him, Mom, not to drink and drive.
If only they had told him, Mom, I would still be alive.
My breath is getting shorter, Mom. I'm becoming very scared.
Please don't cry for me, Mom. When I needed you, you were
      always there.
I have one last question, Mom, before I say good bye.
I didn't drink and drive, so why am I the one to die?*
