The Trolls of the Forge

The Trolls who live near SVH and WVH are very unfriendly and very rarely venture out into the open. They live deep underground and live in a vast kingdom like domain, filled with tunnels and dwellings. They Mine gold in the tunnels and other precious jewels that they find. Some of the trolls do leave the tunnels long enough to trade with the jewels for meat or fur from the elves.

There have been 10 Kings of the Forge. Grimrock is the current King and he rules with a iron fist, literally. He made an iron glove that when he punishes another, he puts on the glove and administers the punishment. many of the trolls have died this way and try their best to not make him mad.

The female trolls are kept in a separate part of the Forge, they are considered a distractment to the workers, Smiths and King. They are given areas where they can garden, create crafts and gossip. They are permitted to make dinner for their mates, and those who do not have a mate must make dinner for the males without a mate, hoping to catch one. They are considered livebearers and they are ranked by how many mumps they bare. The only one who is considered better than the livebearers is the Kings mate.

The male trolls are the smiths and jewel makers in the Forge, creating exquisite swords, daggers, knives and jewelry. They trade among themselves and sometimes with the elves. Most of the smiths hate to give their work away, so if they trade with someone, they make sure they get their money’s worth.

For the most part, the trolls do not associate with the elves. They have much animosity towards the other races. They have been at war with both humans and elves. They even had a joint human and troll war against the Shadow Vale elves. Now they just keep to themselves.

There are some elvin slaves in the Forge. Most are elves who wandered off and ended up in the Forge. They treat their slaves like dirt and starve them, keeping them only barely fed just so they can tend the trolls. Some slaves are favored and those are kept as the females slaves pets. Most of the elvin slaves would rather die then be the females pets.
