Domestic Violence doesn’t always mean physical violence:
- are you scared of your partner?
- are you scared of disagreeing with or angering him?
- does he constantly check up on you and/ or does he make it difficult for you to see family and friends?
- does he withhold money/ food/ affection from you?
If you answered ‘yes’ to any of these questions, you may be experiencing domestic violence.
BIRMINGHAM & SOLIHULL WOMEN’S AID CAN HELP
At Birmingham & Solihull Women’s Aid they aim to provide services that are sensitive to and meet the needs of individual women and children.
They will listen to you, support you and give you time and space to decide what you want to do. They won’t judge you because of what you say or force you to make a decision you do not want to make.
It is important to remember that the abuse you have experienced is not your fault.
Domestic Violence can happen to any woman irrespective of her age, class, disability, ethnicity, HIV status, lifestyle, religion, sexuality or transgender status.
