January 2005
January 16, 2005:
Sorry it's so late in the month before I got started. I have been very busy. This past month I passed my Juvenile test and am just so happy to finally get to that level. Also, Valentin Nikolayev was here working with our jumps and last week Evgeny Nemirovskii was here choreographing our programs. I now have my Juvenile FS program completed and I love it. I am skating to some beautiful Greek music. I love the sound of the mandolin in the background. It's very romantic. I'm having a difficult time finding a dress because it really IS a special program. In March Evgeny will be coming back and choreographing my short program. I'm not sure what music I am skating to yet.
This past week was also the 2005 US Nationals. It was so fun and exciting to watch. Kimmie Meisner landed a triple axel. She's so amazing! She placed 3rd. Sasha Cohen placed second and Michelle Kwan, of course, won, with this being her 9th title. Michelle is just the most awesome skater ever. I love her so much! Her skating quality and grace is so far beyond anyone. She skates with so much passion. Her Bolero program has really progressed and is becoming an awesome work that I know will be completely at the top by World's. I loved Sasha's pink dress. It was beautiful! Johnny Weir won the men's title with Timothy Goebel earning the silver and Evan Lysacek placing third. Tenith and Ben won Dance and Orscher and Lucash won Pairs. I loved Matt Savoie's skating and I think he was robbed of the scores he should have received. He placed 4th.
There was a definite sadness looming over Nationals this year, though, as Angela Nikodinov, her mother, father, and coach were in a car accident that killed her mother. Angela was injured but is ok. It is so sad, especially since she was just coming back from hard times. Timothy Goebel was in tears and crying so hard after his winning short program. He has been good friends with Angela since they were 12.
The Coyote's FSC skaters that went to Nationals also skated great! Congratulations to Douglas Razzano, who placed 4th in Junior Men. Way to go Douglas! Molly Aaron and her partner placed 4th in Novice Pairs. They placed 2nd in the short so they really did a wonderful job, too. I know Jenna Yount and Grant Marron also skated and are steadily moving up the ladder. Good Job Coyote's FSC!
This coming week is the 2005 Winterfest competition here. It's just a local competition but will be alot of fun. It will be good to at least get on the ice to compete. I'll post my results after I skate on Friday morning.
Lately it has been very cold here. We had a foot of snow and then it got bitter cold. I'm kind of disappointed because the snow is not good for building a snowman. It's not even fun to play in it when it is zero degrees. It will be nice when it warms up a little and then I can get out and go sledding.
Well, I'm watching the US Nationals again on TV so I'll sign out for now.
Be Happy!

The Winterfest competition is here this week and so it's practice, practice, practice. I am skating Friday morning at 9:30 am. I can hardly wait. We are also going to take care of Nina, Misha's 3 year old sister, while her parents are taking a vacation in Colorado. She is so cute. Maybe she will teach me some Russian. I'll tell ya all about it later this week.

Sorry it has taken me so long to get back to writing. I have been very busy . Anyway, last week was the Winterfest competition and I'm so happy because I skated my first Juvenile program and won. I felt good skating. I can hardly wait until the next competition. I know it will be harder next time but it just felt good to go out and skate a good program and I love getting out on the ice to compete. The next time I compete will be at Skate Kansas City the first week of April. It will be a future champion series competition so there will be alot of skaters there. I'm working really hard on my program and the elements I need to perfect. I have been working on choctaws and I absolutely hate working on them but I know I need to. They are in my program and I need to get them down good. I love my program though. It is so much fun and goes by so quickly!
Last week was alot of fun with watching Nina. She is so cute. She had a cold while we had her but she was such a good little girl to take care of. Tonight I babysat her again at her house. They have a cute kitty that reminds me of Nico. It made me miss him.
It is late right now so I need to get to bed. I will try to write more tomorrow.
Love,

I am very excited for Wednesday to get here because I want to go to the Smucker's Stars on Ice show. I believe Sarah Hughes is skating in it. Alot of my friends are going. Rachel Stanley is so lucky because she has front row seats. Her dad is VP of First National Bank so she gets free tickets. The only bad thing about going to the show is I'll be missing out on Jams, my church group. I'll also miss out on helping with Learn to Skate. But, it's not everyday I get to go to these shows.
God bless everyone!
