Hope everyone had a great holiday season and a Happy New Year!
I did not stay up for the fireworks on New Year's Eve. But, during the day my mom and I went to my grandma's house, ate goodies, and watched football. Yes, I love football. Probably because my brothers played football. We also walked "Tony", my grandma's basset hound who is 83 pounds!
Or maybe I should say he walked us.
I put some new pics in the photo albums so make sure you take a look. There are some pics of me and my friends at test session and also pics from the Christmas play at Desert Stages Theatre called "The Snow Queen".

Well, now that the holidays are over I have been skating every day except Sunday. Saturdays I help out at the Learn to Skate and play with my friends and Sunday I rest from skating. I have been working really hard. I have a competition in Tucson the first weekend in March and then San Diego at the end of March and then we have our big competition in April called Fiesta Skate. I am probably going to test my preliminary moves in February.

So, I have alot to do. As you know I am skating to "On Golden Pond" for my technical program and am dedicating it to my neighbors who just had to move into a nursing home. I miss them alot. And then I skate to "The Jetson's" for my artistic. It is my fun program.
Yesterday I auditioned for the Wizard of Oz at the Desert Stages Theatre. There were about 900 kids there! It was unbelievable.

I will find out tonight if I get a part.
I'll let ya know what happens. It would be a miracle if I got a part though because there were just so many trying out.
Well, gotta go. I'm still doing schoolwork. I'll get back on later and update you all some more. Hope you are all having a great new year so far!
Love,
Sarah

LATER...
I just had to get back on and tell you all that I made a part in "Wizard of Oz". I'm so happy I can hardly stand it!
I'm going to be the part of "Wonkle", whoever that is. But, I don't care what part I am ...I am just so happy that I made it...I just can't believe it! You guys are going to have to come see the play now. Hey, click onto the Desert Stages site at http://www.DesertStagesTheatre.com
I believe the play runs from Feb. 15th through March 15th. Then, March 20-24th I'll be in San Diego for the skating competition. Also, I have to figure out how I'm going to do the Tucson competition on March 2 and 3. Wish me luck! My mom kept telling me not to get my hopes up but I couldn't help it...I really wanted to do this play and now I get to. Remember when I was in Las Vegas for the Vegas competition? Well, I went to the Wizard of Oz store and if you go to the photo album you will see me in several pics with the Wizard of Oz background. I loved it! This is going to be so much fun! I am so excited! Well, gotta get to bed (hope I can sleep). Tomorrow is another big day. I want to get lots of rest because I want to land that double tomorrow. Plus I have my church group tomorrow night and I love going...it's so much fun!
Talk with ya later.
Love,
Sarah

I just wanted to make a visit and tell you that I went to my first practice at Desert Stages for "Wizard of Oz" and it was more fun than I can tell you! I found out my part is a Wonkle which is one of the witch's guards. The play is double cast so the days I don't do my part I am a cat.
Wonkle is a part that is in the second half so the first half I will be a munchkin. It is so awesome and I will have 3 different costumes.
That means rush, rush, rush in the dressing room. Anyway, at practice we went over the rules and expectations and then we sang three songs that we need to know by next practice. I can hardly wait until the next practice.
Please come to the play...it is going to be so much fun. We have the best Dorothy and everyone is so good! You'll love it. For more info on the play just click on the Desert Stages page I have.

Today I also went skating again after homeschooling. I landed my axel several times again and everytime I do it makes me so happy.
I really want to do good at the competition in Tucson and San Diego so I am going to keep trying really hard. Tonight Kayleigh is spending the night and we are going to work out. We are going to do
jump rope, mini tramp, push ups, crunches, weights, squats and lunges, and then we are going to practice splits and spirals. I have alot to work on in my programs so I need to work really hard. We are also going to practice spins on the spinner.
In the mail today I got a brochure from the Ice Castle International Training Center and it is so awesome. I'm sure you remember when we went there last summer and I want to go again so bad. My mom said Tammy, my coach, won't be able to go this summer because she is having her baby but I still want to go. It would be so neat! You should check it out. Go to www.ice-castle.com and you will see what all you get to do. The only problem is it is so expensive. One week is $1,075 a week. I know that is probably not much to some people but we don't have any money so it's like a dream to me. I'm going to pray really hard (and work really hard) and maybe I will get to go. Just one week would be so fun.
Another thing I am really excited about is the new off ice class that is going to start at Jack Carter's Gymnastic Center in Mesa. Jack Carter was Kristin Maloney's coach and she went to the Olympics in gymnastics. He has trained skaters off ice and wants to get a class going once or twice a week where we work on core body strength, flexibility and some trampoline.
Well, I suppose I should go. Kayleigh wants to play. We are going to work out and then play things like Wizard of Oz, school, barbies, reading to each other, etc.
Love ya,
Sarah
