 MARCH 2005

March 30, 2005:

Easter was really nice.  The day was so beautiful out.  I got a basket with a cute stuffed ballerina bear and some candy.  My mom and I went to church and I was able to wear a new outfit we bought the day before.  The church service was great!  Then my mom and I took Max on a LONG walk.  He loved it!  I think he could go forever!  Later in the afternoon we went down to Lincoln to see my Aunt Ann.  It was  a long day but a good one.

This week I have been working hard on my programs for the Skate Kansas competition.  It's getting easier all the time which is good because then I can have fun with it.  Today I landed all my jumps really good in my program and it felt great!  My mom picked up my red/black dress from The Winning Edge.  Deb did an awesome job on the beading.  (Thanks so much Jack!) Kay Evans also sent my Greek dress for the first fitting.  It was just basted but beautiful already.  I'm so excited.  I can hardly wait for it to be finished.  I'll wear my red/black dress for both programs at Skate Kansas City but hopefully the Greek dress will be done by Texas.

Today I also had a dentist appointment and I didn't have any cavities.  YEA!  I really don't like going to the dentist but I love how my mouth feels after the cleaning.

I'm heading to bed right now because I had a 5:30 am lesson and it's been a long day.  I gotta get up early tomorrow too.  Night Night

March 24, 2005:

I am very excited because yesterday we got a new dog.  He is another Boston Terrier and his name is Max, which is short for Maximillion.  He is a purebreed and he was given to us free.  A small family in our apartment complex was going to have to take him to the pound because they couldn't care for him.  They live on the third floor and the son did not want to take him on walks or take him out and the burden was too much for the mom.  So we took him, of course.  He is a year old and so lovable.  He has alot of energy and loves to play.  He also wants to sleep with me and even get under the covers.  He is alot bigger than Spunky was and has alot more energy but then he is only a puppy.  He is so strong and muscular.  He also is not fixed.  I'm wondering if we can breed him.  He has all of his shots.  He really is so cute.  I can hardly wait to take a picture of him and share it.

Also, yesterday the Ice Castle International Training Center offered to sponsor me for two weeks of summer camp.  I'm really excited.  We have to figure out the details yet.  My dress came in from Kay Evans and it is absolutely gorgeous and it was only basted.  We have to send it back for her to finish and then she will send it to her beader.  We have to pay another $175.00 before I can send it back so my mom is going to have to see if someone can help us.  It is the first time that someone actually made a dress that fits right and looks good on me.  Kay Evans is absolutely awesome!  Now if we can just pay for my skating so I can wear it to compete in.

March 16, 2005:

Worlds has started and I'm so excited.  It will be on TV tomorrow.  I can hardly wait.  There are alot of injuries with the men so anything can happen in the freeskate.  Michelle is in 5th after qualifying and I'm wondering what happened.  Of course Sasha is in first in her group and Irina in her group.  IT's just all so exciting.

March 14, 2005:

I forgot to say that yesterday my friend Krista came over.  She is also a skater.  She just hung out with me.  She loves Sponge Bob so we watched that on TV and also played outside.  We were playing tag and I slipped and fell and scraped my left leg.  Can you believe it?  I have a big motorcycle looking scrape on my lower leg.  It didn't hurt when I skated today with tights on but then when I went to take off the tights they stuck and that really hurt.  I had my plyometrics today and it was hurting then.  My vertical jump was not as good.  I was suppose to go to gymnastics but I decided not to tonight.

It felt good to be on the ice...I'm so glad I could skate today.  I'm always thankful to have the chance to skate but today it was especially good.  Keep the prayers going though.

Love,

Sarah Kidd

March 13, 2005:

I just found out a very sad thing.  Gerry Cullity, the director of Desert Stages Theatre in Arizona, died.  It is devastating to me.  I was in 11 plays with Gerry.  He was like a dad to me and to all of his kids.  I just made up a tribute page to him and I still can't believe it.  It is like it isn't real.  I guess he died of complications from a heart attack.  I will love and miss him always.  We were going to see him on our next visit to Arizona because last visit we didn't have the time to visit the theatre.  I wish we would have gone now and I wish we could have seen him one more time.  I have lots of memories with the theatre.  He was amazing.  Check out the website at www.desertstages.com .

My mom is working hard to keep my skating dreams alive.  She is working at getting sponsors for me.  This week is skating as usual but something has to happen very quickly.  So keep the prayers going in a major way.  It's a very scary thing.  My mom is also working at getting her own business going.  Right when she was just getting things figured out these things happen.

March 12, 2005:

Right now I am crying as I'm writing this update.  It might be one of my last ones, too.  We are out of money for my figure skating and the person that was helping me the most has dropped me like a hot potato.  I don't know why.   And this person is my own family.  No warning or anything.  Just bam!  Pull the floor out from under me.  How could they do this in such a cruel way?   No explanation except no, not helping any more.  I have worked so hard these past two years.  I have finally gotten to a point where I am moving up.   But, my figure skating dreams are now over.  It hurts so bad!  Skating has been such a joy to me and now it is gone.  It feels like a cruel joke!  Only I wish it WAS just a joke.  We don't have money to even practice.  What a horrible horrible nightmare!

I'll write later.  I'm too upset right now.

March 7, 2005:

The March winds have really come in here.  It just howls all day and night.  There is no way anyone could ride their bike here.  They would get blown away.  The temperature trend is on its way up.  Yesterday it was like 70 degrees.  I went over to my friend, Krista's, house.  She is a skater too but skates for another club.  We are the same grade and I think I have a picture with her in my photo album.  We went to the park because it was so nice.  It's funny how we say it's really hot out when it is 70 degrees.  Her parents took us out to eat at Godfather's pizza for dinner.  It was really good.  We had alot of fun and played games at the pizza place.

This past week we really started working in competition mode.  We are working on our program run throughs.  Conditioning is getting alot harder.

Oh, this past weekend a guy in our apartment complex ran his pickup truck through the building...not our building but the one across from ours.  We heard it but thought it was the TV.  Then our neighbor came over asking for help in finding the manager.  No one was hurt, thank goodness!  The truck was totalled and apartment windows were broken as well as a stone ledge and the walls were cracked.  Some strawberry bushes were run down.  The back patio beams were broken down and it was a miracle the top two balconies didn't fall.  It's also a good thing no one was in the yard when it happened.  That was our excitement for the night.

Ok, gotta get back to schoolwork...fractions, fractions and more fractions.
