May Days 2003

First of all, guess what?  Yesterday I turned 11!  I was so excited for my birthday.  I love being 11 years old.  It's just a cool number.  It's like getting first place two times.    Anyway, Happy Birthday to Me!   I had a great birthday!  My Aunt Lori and Uncle Al and my cousins Jesse, Rachelle and Janay came in from Florida and it was so good to see them again.  It has been over 3 years since I last saw them.  Also, my grandpa Tom came over and so did our friend Tim and there were lots of little kids from the neighborhood too.  We had cake and ice cream and just hung out.  I got lots of neat presents this year.   My mom got me some skating outfits and things I needed for skating, plus bought me some ice time.  Oh yea, she also got me a new skate bag, something I really needed!  I also got lots of cool clothes, running shoes, a new bed set....comforter and quilt and all that.  Plus my cousin and I went to Build a Bear and each made our own bear and dressed it up.  I love my new teddy.  I named her Tia.  She is dressed in red, white, and blue.  Oh, and my cake was red, white, and blue.  I picked it out.  Plus, I dressed in red, white and blue!  Anyway, back to gifts, I got a gift card, some money,  a new Mary-Kate and Ashley movie that I hadn't seen and some other good stuff.  My grandma called and we talked too.  They will be coming this way in a couple weeks.  I can't wait to see them and, of course, their dog, Tony.  Today, my Aunt Lori and cousin Janay came over and they are staying with us until Saturday.  We went shopping and did the Build a Bear thing, ate lunch at Valentino's....the best pizza place ever.  You would only know about it if you lived here. And then....you won't believe what I did....I entered a track meet and ran my first race.  I ran the 100 yard dash, the 200 yard and the 400.  It was awesome!  I got 3 ribbons for 2nd, 3rd and 4th place.  I loved it!  The race was a preliminary junior olympic event and there were kids that belong to track clubs that really are serious runners.  It was so cool!  I'm going to keep running with a club because it will really get me in shape, plus it's fun!

Well, gotta go.  Gotta get to bed.  My cousin and I are laying out in the living room tonight and watching movies.  We are also coloring our Build a Bear box.  Tomorrow we are going to visit my 93 year old grandma, Gladys and my two aunts in Lincoln.  It will be a long day so I gotta get to sleep.
