Yesterday I got my new skates! Yea!!!  They are so beautiful!  My mom took me out to Kelly's shop and had them fitted and the blades mounted.  I got SPTeri Super Teri Deluxe skates.  I am using the same blade I had before because they are still good.  They are called Phantom blades.  I was lucky because they fit the new boots.  Anyway, I was so excited to skate because I hadn't skated in almost a week.  It felt so good to wear the new skates and to get out on the ice.  Of course they hurt but I didn't care.  I skated two sessions with them on!  And then I went home and walked around in them.  I don't have blisters yet, thank God.  I can hardly wait to skate again today.  I just want everyone to stop a say a thanksgiving prayer to God for allowing me the opportunity to have a new pair of skates.  I have never owned new skates and it is so special to me!  I would also like you to pray for my friend Kaylie Britain because she needs a new pair of skates really bad too.  She needs a size 3 1/2 or 4.  Please let me know if you know of anyone with that size.

Last night we had off ice training again and of course it was fun....it's always fun!  We work out hard but Jack makes it fun.  We worked really hard on our abs and today I'm sore...but a good sore.

Well, gotta get back to schoolwork.  I'll write again later....love you all.

Just wanted to let you know I figured out what I'm doing for my birthday party.   There is an indoor wave pool by my grandma's house that has a big slide and everything and it is really cheap.  This is great because I can invite as many kids as I want....it will be so much fun.  I'm having it on the 19th and I can hardly wait.  We are making our own goodie bags.  By the way, anyone can come so give me a call if you want to join in.

Also, my left ankle is bloody from my new skates....I even got blood on the inside of them.  Do you think Hydrogen Peroxide will take it out?  Someone told me to use that today.  My  mom is going to take me to Arcadia Ice today to pick up a bunga pad to cover it....hopefully that will help.  But, I have been able to do everything I normally do in my new skates and I love them.  I have been working really hard on my moves.  I want to test on June 1st but my coach is tough and she may have me wait and test two weeks after that....depends how they look by next week.
GO MOVES GO MOVES GO MOVES OH YEA!

Better get back to my schoolwork....am working on fractions....yuck!  No.....I loves fractions....I love fractions....I love fractions.

Love ya,

Sarah

Sorry it has been so long since my last entry but so many things have been keeping busy.  I first of all want to tell everyone that my beautiful cat, Pepper, died.   It has been so sad for me.   Pepper was the most beautiful cat...I think there is a picture of him in our photo album on the website.  He had been sick and we had him in the hospital twice.  He just couldn't seem to get better.  We were going to take him back to the vet the next day but he died before we could take him.  He died in his sleep laying next to a basket that had a stuffed animal of a basset hound in it.  This was really weird to me because he used to love my grandma's basset "Odie".  We use to watch him for 6 months out of the year while they traveled.  Pepper use to lay on him and when Odie died he didn't eat for 2 weeks!  He never did get use to Spunky, our Boston Terrier.  Anyway, Pepper died with his head next to this stuffed basset and he had a smile on his face.  I know he was telling us he was now in heaven with Odie.  I really miss him.  We buried him and planted a rose bush at the head of his grave and also planted wild flowers and some forget-me-not flowers on it.

Yesterday, I had my birthday party at an indoor wave pool.  It was so much fun.  We played into the waves and had a blast.  One funny thing was the lifeguard fell into the pool and couldn't get out because of the big waves.  She was wearing slippers and was blaming everyone around her saying someone had pushed her when she had actually just slipped and fell in.   Lots of friends came and we also had cake and I opened presents.  The only bad part was it ended too soon.  My oldest brother, Jeremy, came to the party and that made me really happy.  Now it is only 8 days until my 10th birthday and I can hardly wait!

On a skating note:  My coach Tammy does not want me to test on June 1st.  I feel like I'm ready but she is very picky and the moves must not be perfect or she would have me test them.  I will test the next test session.  I really wanted to test this month and it has upset me to not be able to do it. But, what can I do?
Well, better go.  I have school work to do.  I am also starting another class at Jacks Gymnastics Academy....it's a gymnastics class for fun.  I'm excited about that too.

Take care and I'll talk with ya soon.

Love,

Sarah

MEMORIAL DAY2002

Today is Memorial Day and I hope everyone has had a safe and fun weekend.  But, this is a special day and I also hope everyone takes time to think on why we have Memorial Day.

Today I met a lady who is a war veteran.  She was a flight nurse during the Viet Nam war and she use to fly injured and sick soldiers back home from Viet Nam and many other places.  She was really neat.  I didn't get her name and I wish I would have.  She was a major in the military and told me there was nothing better in life than serving her country.  She said that ever since she was 4 years old she wanted to be a nurse and since the age of 5 she wanted to also fly.  Her dream was to include both....she didn't know how it would come about but that was her dream.  And guess what....she got to live it!   She also told me to hold onto my dream and someday it will be a reality.  That is what freedom means to me....to be able to dream and then to live it.   I am so thankful for everyone that has fought for that right.  I could not be a skater, or be homeschooled or live my Christian life if it wasn't for those who have gone before me and fought for it.  I never want to waste another day in my life because every day is precious to me and I'm so thankful I can live it free.  Thank you!

Now you know that more than ever I want to skate to Battle Hymn.  I watched Pearl Harbor last night and it really helped me to understand alot about those who fought for our freedom.  It makes me proud to be an American!  Well, I'm going to go for now but I hope you all had a great Memorial weekend and I'll catch ya next week.

Love,

Sarah
