Sarah's Prayers

Major Immediate Prayer:
Praise Report on my Aunt Ann:  Although she had a scary close call with death, she made it through and she finally got out of her yucky home and into a new little apartment.  This is totally God's doing and so I am praising Him!!!  Continue to pray for her because she needs help with her old house.  There is so much to take care of with it.

*Immediate need for new skate boots-Jackson Supreme Elite Custom boots in size 5 1/2 B.  We have no money right now because we  are moving into a new apartment that is only one mile from the rink.  This will save so much on gas and car repairs and it has an exercise room so that will save $20 on gym membership.  We have a swimming pool right outside our door and a jacuzzi, which I can use and will help my mom with her fibromyalgia, that is really bothering her right now.  I also need a new short program dress as I am getting a new novice short program and a new novice freeskate program.  I will use the dress Jack got me for my freeskate.  I have been using that dress for awhile and I love it so will continue to use it.

* Pray for my great grandmother in law who is 91 years old.  Her husband just died and she is alone in a large house.  She cannot drive and will need help with deciding where to live and what to do plus when she moves she will need lots of help with that.  Pray she is not only physically strong but also emotionally.

"I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me."  Philippians 4:13
I know that Jesus gives me the strength I need in order to be a  good skater and a good person...he strengthens my soul and in turn, my whole
being.

Just as  skating demands commitment, so does faith.  There are no results without commitment!  Check out Psalm 1...live by this everyday of your life.

I know that God gives everyone gifts and talents and we should be so grateful and thankful for these things...praising Him and not ourselves for everything we are able to do because of these gifts and talents.

"Therefore , I urge you, brothers, in view of God's mercy, to offer your bodies as living sacrifices, holy and pleasing to God - this is your spiritual act of worship.  Do not conform any longer to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind.  Then you will be able to test and approve what God's will is - his good, pleasing and perfect will."  Romans 12:1,2

What do we do now on this earth that we will STILL do in Heaven?  Think on this...

God's plan for us is to lift Him up and everything we do should be to lift Him up...not to lift ourselves up?  How can I lift up God and not myself today?  How can I be a good ice skater and not give myself praise but give God praise?  I have to remember to always praise God before, during and after I skate.  My goal should be to be a witness of God to others when I go out onto that ice...it is not to get a 1st place medal but to give God glory and to show others Christ through my skating.  I will praise Him on the ice and give Him the glory.  My music and my skating will be to glorify Him and not myself and others will see it.  That is my goal.  And I want to be a good witness...that is my prayer.

"God began doing a good work in you.  And he will continue it until it is finished when Jesus Christ comes again."  -Philippians 1:6

"This is my prayer for you:  that your love will grow more and more; that you will have knowledge and understanding with your love; that you iwll see the difference between good and bad and choose the good; that you will be pure and without wrong for the coming of Christ; that you will do many good things with the help of Christ to bring glory and praise to God."  Philippians 1:9-11

"Help us, O God our Savior, for the glory of your name; deliver us and atone for our sins for your name's sake."  Psalm 79:9

"But He said to me, "My grace is sufficient for you, for My power is made perfect in weakness."  2Cor 12:9

The great need is not to do things, but to believe things!

The failure of people never defeats the power of God.  Please remember this as you work through the hard times.  God is at work.  Something good...or even better...is on its way.

"Be diligent to present yourself approved to God as a workman who does not need to be ashamed handling accurately the word of truth."  2 Tim. 2:15

"we are afflicted in everyway, but not crushed, perplexed, but not despairing; persecuted, but not forsaken; struck down but not destroyed."  2 Cor. 4:8,9

One thing I learned today is that I cannot force someone to believe and to change their life.  I need to constantly trust in God and let Him lead me and let my actions and love show the truth of God.
