Spring 2003
May 12, 2003...I'm so excited! Today I landed double lutz double loop. Well, I only landed it once, but hey, it's a start! It felt great! I also landed my double flips and loops and I played my music and skated around to get the feel of it. I love it so much! Tomorrow I have a moves lesson with a lady named Sharon. I'm excited about that too! My coach is on vacation laying on the beach somewhere with his family and enjoying drinks with umbrellas in them. Ha!
May 5, 2003....non ice skating trivia....I just found out something cool about my name, Sarah Elizabeth Kidd. I know everyone has heard of the pirate Captain Kidd. Well, when he got married way back in the 1600s (yes, even pirates get married) he and his wife had two daughters. One was named Sarah Kidd and the other Elizabeth Kidd. Cool, huh?

Today was so cool. We had tornadoes!
My mom and I were at Walmart when the sirens went off and the managers go running outside. Next thing we know, the intercom comes and with a Code Black and then we are all told to go to the back of the building because of tornadoes! We were actually standing in line to buy our stuff when it happened. We had to leave our cart and make our way to the back of the building where everyone piled together for about an hour. We had golf ball size hail, too. There had been several tornado sitings close by but I don't think anyone was hurt. It was just so weird. Later the skies cleared up some and it was nice and cool out. Everyone just goes on about their business as if nothing happened. So we did too. When we got back to the apartment, Spunky looked horror stricken and so glad to have us back. Poor thing. Later I heard there were really bad tornadoes in Kansas, Missouri, and Tennessee and that there were over 30 dead. When I hear that, I feel very lucky it wasn't worse than it was for us here. I am sad for those having lost loved ones and homes.
We went to church tonight and it was awesome! The children's choir and drama group put on their spring concert called "God's Top Ten" and it was all about the Ten Commandments. It was really cool and I can't wait to become a part of the choir and drama. We will be getting more involved each week. I'm really excited.
Oh...at skating this week I actually did double doubles....yea! I also got 5 blisters on one foot....yuck!
Gotta go.....gotta go to bed early because my lesson times are earlier this week.
I'm excited for this week again!
Love ya all......

I had alot of fun in skating today. I got my new music and it is Russian, of course.
my coach had it made up....don't know where he got it but it is awesome....and fast! I can't wait! I think I'll be competing in Colorado in August. I'm not sure yet.

Spring is in the air here. It was a beautiful day today! The weather is perfect! And skating was awesome! Today I learned a camel to a flying sit. I totally love it! It's so fun! It feels so cool to do new things! I also finally did my toe loop the right way. THAT totally made me happy!
Tonight is jumps class. I can hardly wait! Last night was conditioning
and it was so much fun.....hard, but fun! I have been sore for the last two weeks!
But, I can now get all the way down on all sides of my splits....yea!

Hi! Hope you all had a great Easter!
I went to a new church and it is so cool.
There is a huge drama and music department that I hope I can get involved in. www.westsidechurchomaha.org I'll have to tell ya what happens when we get more into the whole program. Anyway, the Easter service was awesome! Also, I got tons of yummy candy from the "Easter Bunny"
but don't tell Alexei....ha! Guess what! I think he already knows because off ice conditioning on Monday night was full of torture and I have been very sore.
Today I landed on my face trying a jump and I really didn't feel with it....I think I was just tired...and sore! I felt bad...so tonight I will get lots of sleep and try harder tomorrow.
Anyway, I have a new friend who lives two doors down and her name is Rachel. She is my age and is really cool. She knows nothing about ice skating. I mean, she doesn't even know who Michelle Kwan is!
Can you believe it? Well, guess what? She does NOW! Rachel likes basketball and wants to try out for a team.
Both of us likes Mary Kate and Ashley, Barbies and computer games. She is alot of fun! Today we played soccer with the neighbor kids and we also made up dances and cheers.
You won't believe this apartment complex. There are so many dog owners. And all the little dogs are so cute and nice!
Well, you know me....animal lover....I love them all!
Well, better go for now....check out my new pics in the photo albums. I know you'll love them. There are TONS....I think I have two pages of albums and each album has several page! And, hey, don't forget to write me a note.
Love,

Hi everybody! I know it has been a long time since I wrote but I have been very busy with all the changes in my life. First of all.....my mom and I are now in Omaha, Nebraska. You might ask why? Well, there are lots of reasons...
I have also started skating again...yes, the new skates are in and they are great!
I have been skating at the Moylan Tranquility Iceplex. I have been landing my doubles. I am so happy! My spins are better, I feel faster, and my skating is getting better all the time. I am also in ballet
, off ice jumps class and conditioning. It is so cool. All the skater's are in the classes, too. I have been meeting alot of skater friends and I'll tell you about everyone another day. I have some new non skating friends, too. I have a really good friend in Lincoln, named Carl. We play football, jump on the trampoline, rollerskate around the block, and just hang out.
He is my age. He reminds me of my brothers because he is so funny. I'm also glad to be here to see my great aunts. They are so nice and fun to be around. The other night we sat out on the porch and sang songs.
It was a full moon and my aunt started singing an old song from when she was little, which was probably in the 30s and it was about marrying the man in the moon. It was funny and the night was so neat. Anyway, I am so happy right now. I'm so excited to be landing my doubles and learning so many new things. I love being with my relatives and my new friends. This weekend is Easter and my mom and I plan to try a new church. I'll tell ya about it next week. I hope everyone has a great Easter.....don't eat too much candy
(right!) and remember to celebrate the real reason for the holiday, which is praising God for Jesus Christ, who died on the Cross for YOU and rose again on the 3rd day to give YOU eternal life with Him.
So.....God bless and send me a note! I miss you all!
Love,
Sarah
