October 2003

Happy Halloween!

October 31, 2003......Happy Halloween!

I thought I wanted to be a Renaissance Lady for halloween but when I tried on the costumes they really weren't what I wanted.  So, guess what I dressed up as?  I was Snow White, wig and all.  I loved it.  Mom put red lipstick on me, blush on my cheeks, and drew darker eyebrows on me and I put my black wig on with the red ribbon, like Snow White has.  Mom took a picture and I hope to put it on the site soon.  I loved being Snow White.  It was fun.  We went over to David's and I don't think he knew who I was at first.  He seemed confused.  Anyway, David and I went trick or treating with his sisters.  His mom drove the van with my mom sitting up front too.  They followed us in the van while we walked around the neighborhood.  It was really cold out.  I had two pairs of tights on and also some leggings.  Plus, I had on a long sleeve leotard and long sleeve shirt on over that.  All of this was under my costume.  It kept me warm though.  I had a candy bucket with a handle that lit up.  It was cool!  We also drove over to Alexei's to see if he would recognize us but his lights were out.  Bah, humbug!  Oh yea, that's Christmas.  There really weren't very many trick or treaters out and I think it was because it was so cold.  I thought there would be tons of kids out and that halloween around here would be a big thing but it didn't seem like it was.  I had fun though and I have way too much candy.  The night before I brought Halloween treats to conditioning class.  Ha!  Well, I handed them out AFTER class.  Ashlie brought some too.  Everyone snatched them right up.

Hope you all had a good Halloween too.

October 13, 2003

It's fall time already and the leaves are turning the most beautiful colors!  I'm so happy we are living here with all the pretty trees.  The skies have also been so beautiful.  Everyday God paints another picture and during the days I see so many different pictures of His artwork.  I love it!  And I love the cool temperatures!

Yesterday we went to Vala's Pumpkin Patch and it was awesome!  You can check it out by going to http://www.valaspumpkinpatch.com .  It is like a Halloween Disneyland.  There was a pumpkin-eating dragon show, country music band, pirate maze and cove, a haunted farmhouse and spook shed, a haunted trail and graveyard, lots of petting corrals with everything from goats, sheep, llamas, camels and even a bull.  I fed every one.  There is a bunnyville area that is a little town for bunnies, a scarecrow band and also pirate band, creepy hollow village, peddle tractors, campfires, storytelling and smores.  The Pigtucky Derby Pig Races were funny and I experienced a hayride to the field to pick out a pumpkin.  Pumpkin Creek Railroad was a fun train ride.  There were giant slingshots where I shot apples at pirates.  There was also so much food it was unbelievable.  The fudge was so yummy!  There were caramel apples, turkey legs, hot dogs, smores, succotash, pork chops and ribs, cotton candy, kettle corn, ice cream and custard, cookies and candies of every kind and just about every yummy thing you could think of for an outdoor kind of day.  One of the best things was the Pumpkinapolis 500 where I drove a peddle tractor.  We stayed all day and didn't get home until around 9:30 pm.  I was really tired in my lesson today and Alexei knew it.  He told me I needed to go home and take a nap!  Oooops!  Sorry Alexei!  I will get to bed early tonight and have a great lesson tomorrow.

Last week Evgenii came and helped us with our programs.  He is an awesome choreographer.  He opened my program up and gave it that little bit of something extra.  I love it!

I test my pre juv moves and freestyle on Nov. 13th.  It is the closest test coming so we will keep working on them until then.  I am very excited about it.  Last week I hurt my wrist when I fell on my double loop while using the rubber band.  It was my fault.  Anyway, it is much better now.  I love the double loop.  It is alot of fun.  I'm finally getting that double toe.  It has been taking me a long time to straighten that jump out but I'm finally getting it.  I think it is probably my favorite jump right now.

Better get back to schoolwork.  Talk with ya later.

Love,

Sarah
