NEWSLETTER

Sarah Elizabeth Kidd

A newsletter to say Hi and to let everyone know what's new in my life:

This past year has been very stressful and tough but also good in that I am getting my goals set for the upcoming year and I'm excited to push ahead with my skating and see how far I can progress.   Currently, my novice short program was choreographed and it's my favorite program of all time, so far.  The music is "I'm Doun for lack of Johnnie" by Vanessa Mae.  It is a beautiful piece of celtic type music.  My freeskate is "Just for You".  I'm dedicating my programs this year to some special people in my lives...the soldiers fighting in Iraq.    I'm so excited!!!  I have my dress for the FS  but not for the short yet.  I am still thinking on what I want for the short program dress but I have an idea on the color.  I'll update as soon as I get it designed.  I have an artistic program, too, that is set to "The Prayer".   The jumps I am hoping to include this year are the double axel, triple salchow, triple flip and triple loop.   I have landed my triple salchow double toe and tripleloop double toe.  I have also done triple flip but it is still cheated so am working to clean it up.

Just recently my mom and I finally got moved into an apartment that is close to my training rink.  I love it!  I have my own room and I love the fact that we have a swimming pool and hot tub as well as an exercise room.  We are close to everything and it should help us out time wise and also financially.

I love that I am in Arizona right now cuz I'm close to my family.  My brothers both live here as well as my grandma and grandpa.  My oldest brother works at a vet pharmacy where they make drugs for animals.  My other brother, Josh, is a comedian and is busy doing shows.  Both of my brothers are very funny and I love them so much!

Besides being on the ice, I am also training off ice at The Polar Gym (www.thepolargym.com).  I work with Master McGowan with tae boxing and hapkido.  I recently earned my green belt in hapkido.  I love working out with Master.  I am learning so many new things and having a lot of fun too!  I also do cardio in our apartment exercise room with the elliptical machine as well as the treadmill.

Just recently I started a group that supports our soldiers.   My group is at http://groups.myspace.com/myfreedomfighters .  I have been communicating with most of the soldiers that are in the group and I am very proud of everyone of them.  They are fighting a war that is helping to ensure our freedoms.  Our country changed on 9-11 and life as we knew it before will never be the same again.  We need to remember that and be grateful our guys (and women) are over there to keep us as safe as possible.  The guys I communicate all want to be there and they want to take the risk of losing their lives to hang on to freedom as we know it.  They get down when they hear those that protest them being over there.  They get heart sick when the media shows a different picture than what is true. They are doing a job and love it!  They need our support and not our negative propaganda.  They believe in what they are doing and cannot understand those that don't.   There are many people (countries) in the world that want to hurt us.  We are a Christian nation and free.  These countries do not want us to be that way.  The men standing up for us are the brave.  These are my heroes!  I owe them so much so the least I can do is volunteer some time to support them.   These are the ones I am dedicating my programs to this year!

Ok, so I will try to add to this newsletter as I think more on what I have been doing.  I hope everyone is having a great spring and I look forward to hearing from everyone.

Love,

Sarah Kidd
