The Angelic Hierarchy
The angels are part of a line of life that evolves alongside humankind. They are composed of lighter substance than we are and are often invisible to us. All religions speak of angels in their sacred texts. Their functions include praising and attending to the Divine, protecting the faithful, guiding humanity and mediating between us and the Divine. We do not have to be aware of them to receive their benefits. But to communicate with them once we are aware, all we need to is open our hearts and extend our hands to them.
You can determine which of the archangels you are most likely to resonate with by a few different methods. There are tables here to show two of those methods. The first is by the vowel that is most strongly pronounced in your first name.

Nature Spirits
Almost all cultures have legends of nature spirits. This realm also evolves alongside humanity. We affect them as much as they affect us. They tend to be distrustful of humans due to our abuse of the natural environment. When working with nature spirits, you may wish to conjure a magic circle or visualize a sphere of protective white light around yourself, as this realm has some mischievious beings inhabiting it.

Totem Spirits
The shamanic tradition involves connecting to spirit totems (natural objects, beings or animals with whose phenomena & energy we feel closely associated during life). Spirit totem animals' archetypal power is reflected in individual qualities & characteristics. Contact with our totem animal helps us learn about ourselves & can give us their particular energy when we call upon it. Meditation exercises and dreamwork may help facilitate this contact. You may do research to interpret totem images or allow your intuition to be stirred by your totem to determine their significance in your life. Searching for that meaning honors your totem and helps build the bridge between your physical world & the spirit realm within it.

Discarnates
As in contact with nature spirits, you may decide it is wise to either conjure a magic circle or visualize a sphere of protective white light before contacting spirits of the dead. Most of us know that communication with the departed need not be frightening or dangerous, but the possibility of contact with malaevolent spirits does exist.
Death is the great mystery of life & sometimes arouses a fear & misconception that it separates us from those we love. Although we should not constantly call on the spirits of the dearly departed (since they have their own lives to continue in other dimensions), they can, if necessary, serve as guides through death or inspire us in thought or deed. Contact, whether spontaneous or conscious, may also reveal facts surrounding their death if it was a mystery.
If you choose to initiate contact with discarnates through a ouija board, either study extensively & proceed with great caution, or seek the aid of a trained medium with a good reputation. Such contact should not be taken lightly & never used as a game. This behavior would definitely invite negative spirit contact.
