There is a couple of cheap n cheerful - but good quality food which is cheap - just behind Grand Anse beach. Looking for the beach you have a shopping complex and to the left an behind that lies a small row of shops bar on left is cool and the sushi bar to its right is cheap and good quality. The sandwich bar / deli is good value if you want to get some food in for a day at beach or for travelling around the island. The island also has the best air port departure lounge in the world by far! http://www.aquarium-grenada.com/ is no more than ten minutes from the airport. Drop of your bags check in then head out of the airport go up the hill and turn left. Check the web site out if you are flying out on a Sunday its worth checking in early then spending a few hours in the Aquarium for the Sunday BBQ with live music overlooking the sea - the bar is literally fronts onto the beach. If you can plan it you can eat, drink swim in the sea use the shower at the bar then get to the airport and fly home - my only warning you may not want to leave. The north of the island is worth a visit and the Atlantic coastal road is a must the views can be dramatic. Inland you have some amazing sites including waterfalls - get to see seven sisters - one the falls is a good 45 minute hike (PS wellies water a towel and a camera a must) from the but you MUST do this - you have to camber around a huge boulder (think house size) to get to the base of the falls where this a clear pool to swim in - when we went there no one else there - in fact after leaving car no one else at all unless you count two goats! Look out for the faces carved into the boulder an turn around to face the way you have come for an amazing view of rainforest and no roads, cars, houses just like paradise.

I could go on and unless you are looking for 24/7 party land (this is not for those looking for club 18-30 or spring break) this placeis ideal - if you are a couple looking for a romantic holiday or on honeymoon I am at a loss to offer you a better place to go.

My only concern is that more people are aware that Grenada exists and the new airport means 747's can fly in plus a number of new developments both in St Georges and elsewhere are taking place - my best advice get there before it gets developed further - no hype the place is amazing.

PS I learnt to dive there - the water is crystal clear and the fish (n particular the ugly ones) are amazing - being surround by a shoal of neon blue fish was something I will never forget nor the seven squid moving towards me in attack formation.

I was very fortunate to visit Grenada around Easter 2007 - stayed at http://www.grenadaguesthouse.com/ - recommend this strongly nice and pool is a bonus.

I found the Island amongst the most beautiful place I have visited from amazing white beach’s with crystal clear water to rain forests and waterfalls with pools to swim in. The people were very friendly and helpful and using the mini buses to travel was an experience.

It’s worthwhile hiring a vehicle for at least some time - get a small 4x4 with a canvas roof - but beware it can and does rain hence rain forest!

Weather was perfect ever cold and never too hot - pace of life simply ideal for a holiday - some very reasonable priced places to eat - there are also some upmarket places which seem to cater for holiday / US / UK markets - you pays your money...

Grenada is a beautiful island filled with wonderful people. There are lots of mountains and beaches. Traditionally known as the Island of Spice for its many spice production. The most popular being nutmeg. Plenty of tourist attractions with a laid back life style.
If you're seeking excitement then the 2nd week in August is the optimal time to vist. This is Carnival time. PLenty, plenty of activities and fun things. There is a Queen Show, Adult Carnival, Kiddies Carnival, Demashgra(?sp?). This event is where calypsonians compete to be the King. There is also Jouvert, which is held early morning. Here you'll find lots of different, weird, fun and exciting things and people.
