I can't see new bulletins since this afternoon, but I'm hoping you all can see them... I'm posting anyway, maybe tomorrow I'll start seeing them again. if you have any question feel free to message me, I've spoken to several people over there and really, the severity of this seems to be very under-reported, but anyhoo, that won't deter; former republican Idaho state legislator is doing what she can on her end of her own accord, she stated repeatedly, "We all have such great affection and deep appreciation for the tribes; ALL of our lives are greatly enhanced due to their presence, they are just the most wonderful communities of people..."

Will be sending emails, this is deplorable that the Red Cross and FEMA have not stepped in and offered their help! They are supposed to go to areas that need help regardless of race, color, religion or citizens. Seems the first citizens are the first to be overlooked by our governmental agencies, that is a SHAME!!! | Margaret B.

| Just received this message! Tuesday, 7:22 AM
Ms. Baylor— The Northern Nevada Chapter of the American Red Cross has been in contact with a representative of the Duck Valley Indian Reservation since last week and we are aware of the situation. We are working with the representative to get the necessary resources they need until the power has been restored. The local power company has been replacing the poles and restringing the power lines as fast as they can to restore power. We appreciate your concern. |

- I got to listen in on part of the Radio Broad cast last night! Understand Si started crying at the end of his call on line with radio station. It has been rough on him, with his parents living on the rez He trying to get the News out There and him and the firefighters driving over100 miles or more, trying to get water and gasoline and Of Course food to them. The fire seems to be between them and the other towns 100 miles away. Yes, they are really cut off from the world! The Power Company started to put up more poles and got 100 in before the fires burned them down, too! With power out they can not pump Water or Gasoline! Judith Another Update:
Kid Get Lunch and Goodies in Owyhee,NV... Jul 25, 2007 11:45 AM This is the most up to date info for Duck Valley. I talked to my brother and he said the kids recieved a sack lunch with a PB & J sandwich, sunflower seeds, ritz crackers, fruit roll-up and fruit juice. Also some families received a box of dry goods, noodles, can goods, pudding, etc... also many are getting flashlights and batteries. The elders are getting gas for their generators( the ones that have one) ice, water and also they were feed a hot brunch at the senior center. This is some great news, but the power is still out. They have a generator coming from Denver,CO. and that should be up and running by tonite 7/24. Then that night The Army arrived! With hot dogs and watermelon handed out to over 100 hungry children,

- The problem at first was in getting the News out to the Indian Nations!!!!!!!!
As no National Network touched it!!!!!!!!!
It started with one little E-Mail to Carlos.
Then to our Blogs, Journals, Web pages and our Group Sites.
Then finally to a little Radio station in Washington State for an Hour one Thursday night.
Then finally ones paid attention to the Fire Stories coming out of Nevada.
Now TV News In Idaho is playing catch up after it is almost over
So we have come to realize we need ONE WELL READ BLOG that will cover News of ones needing help for all to check in on! Yeah! Ann #2 Comment day-1 says: i do think this is a great idea, having news from our native people.i am oka choctaw and like to keep informed about other tribes.

- Interior secretary tours fires The Casper Star Tribune, WY - Aug 11, 2007 Kempthorne also met with tribal leaders on the Duck Valley Indian Reservation, which was without power for 10 days after fires burned power poles and lines. At the reservation, Kempthorne visited a newly built green house the tribe intends to use to grow plants that can be used to refurbish the blackened landscape.
"This can and will be a great success story," said Kempthorne, who promised the tribe expedited financial aid to get the project going.

By JOHN SENTS — Staff Writer Thursday, July 26, 2007 1:31 PM PDT
