WELCOME & THANK YOU FOR JOINING US!

THIS GROUP is a meeting place, support group, and research & reference center for anyone touched by stroke, including survivors of both Ischemic Stroke and Hemorrhagic Stroke, Transient Ischemic Attack (TIA), caregivers, family members and friends. This is a group for and about people recovering from the third deadliest malady known to mankind and the NUMBER ONE permanent disabler.

Among the primary goals of this group is to provide
survivors and caregivers with accurate research information, options, hope, AND a safe place to cry, rejoice and share experience.

Please join our group and learn how to advocate on behalf of yourself and other survivors and caregivers who may be alone, afraid, confused and too disabled to advocate on their own behalf.  I know you will agree that this is some of THE most rewarding activity we can be involved in as human beings: offering of ourselves with no specific thought or expectation of reward or special treatment. That puts this participation in spirit world, and you will all receive Great Gifts, perhaps the Greatest of Gifts.

An ischemic stroke happens when a blood vessel (artery) supplying blood to an area of the brain becomes blocked by a blood clot. About 80% of all strokes are ischemic strokes.

A hemorrhagic stroke happens when an artery in the brain leaks or bursts (ruptures). About 80% of hemorrhagic strokes are FATAL. Of the 20% who do survive, most are left with varying degrees of permanent physical and emotional disability.
