The Basics:

  • To participate you need to join up and pay a yearly membership fee ($15) and a minimum deposit ($50).
  • For the Kirribilli Group, an extra $5 membership to the Kirribilli Neighbourhood Centre is required for the use of their space.
  • The food order is selected by the orderer using the order guidelines.
  • To receive food you put your name down on the sign up list for the date that you want to pick up, eg. sign up for Oct 20.
  • Come on the day of the pickup, collect your food and stay for a chat!
  • Pay your money into the account after you have been emailed the final cost (recharging your initial deposit).
  • Stay up to date by reading the Message Board (we recommend you request the messages be sent to your email).

Our Vision and Objectives:

To support the the ethical production of food (social, environmental, economic) by:

  • Buying certified/known organic food only or food of a known origin that meets the groups values
  • Minimising waste (food & packaging etc)
  • Purchasing and supplying food as fresh as possible
  • Purchasing food seasonally
  • Purchasing biodynamic food wherever possible
  • Supporting local farmers (minimise food km and middle people)
  • Supplying information on food origins (farmer, locality, methods etc.)
  • Purchasing food at a fair price (for both group and growers)
  • Including meat for members who want it
  • Providing a flexible and open group and structure
  • Staying a democratic and decentralised group
  • Encouragin similar values in the community
  • Having a transparent decision making process (especially on types of food)
  • Preferentially buying Australian produced food
