No,  I don't Think So

Health effects:

Ethylene oxide is classified by the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) as an occupational carcinogen and as a "de minimis" carcinogen, meaning that the minimum amount of the chemical set by OSHA is considered to be carcinogenic (cancer causing).  It is listed on EPA's Toxic Release Inventory (TRI) as a "de minimis" carcinogen.  It is also defined as a substance "which may reasonably be anticipated to be a carcinogen" by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services' National Toxicology Program's Fifth Annual Report on Carcinogens.

Ethylene oxide is linked to peritoneal cancer and leukemia, and also has mutagenic and reproductive effects. Inhalation causes nausea, vomiting, neurological disorders, and even death. Traces of gas in gloves or clothing may cause burns. Residues in vascular catheters can cause thrombophlebitis; in endotracheal tubes, tracheitis.

What does peritoneal mean?

"It may mean inter abdominal? Peritoneal dialysis is a form or kidney failure treatment which years ago had great successes and failures. It consisted of an inter-abdominal shunt or implant that the patient could exchange abdominal saline solution with to clean out the toxins normally removed by the kidneys. It was a good idea and allowed greater mobility for people instead of being restricted to regular kidney dialysis treatments at centers.  Nephrologists or kidney specialists were usually the consultants and there are centers around the country rehab. used to send patients to for training on either machine or peritoneal dialysis. Home Nurses were usually involved to make home visits to check on the quality of self care until they were able to perform all the tasks. Home Dialysis was also the other option using machines."  Valdez para-professional

Primary peritoneal cancer is a rare cancer. This is a cancer that has arisen from the peritoneum. The peritoneum is best described as a membrane lining the inside of the abdomen, clinging to and covering all the organs in the abdomen (for example the intestines, the liver and the stomach). A primary peritoneal cancer can arise from any part of this membrane. www.cancerbacup.org.uk

PS  Why would Exxon bring a product, as they did Corexit 8-1-89?

& even before that when it was without an MSDS... fully experimental,

with a chemical even worseEthylene OxideETHYLENE OXIDE

Ethylene Oxide  http://www.osha.gov/SLTC/ethyleneoxide/index.html  Known in 1984 & before:

"Both human and animal studies suggest that EtO

is a potential occupational carcinogen,

causing leukemia and other cancers.

EtO has also been linked to reproductive damage,

including spontaneous abortions;

cytogenetic damage; neurological effects

ranging from nausea and dizziness to peripheral paralysis;

and tissue irritation."

There is video showing an airplane dumping Corexit in the oiled waters of the Exxon Valdez Oil Spill.  How sad!

What has happened to the people who had to transport it?  Dispense it?

What is the chemical formula look like for ethylene oxide?

Ethylene oxide is ethylene (CH2=CH2) with an oxygen
atom bridging the two carbons, so it is roughly like this

           0
        /     \
  H2C = CH2
