Adding a Filling Valve for the Fresh Water Tanks
Trying to add chlorine to the fresh water tanks for extended storage has always been a problem for me. Putting the chlorine into the fresh water hose and then hooking up the hose and then applying pressure to induce the chlorine into the tank was very messy.
A solution that I came up with was adding a valve on the top of the tank with a short clear plastic hose. The hose came from a local RV supply and is the same used on small travel trailers. To make the hole in the top of the tank I used a short lag bolt just smaller than the hole I wanted. By heating the lag bolt with a torch and then applying this to the top of the tank I was able to get the hole size I wanted. Next, while the plastic was still soft I inserted the valve with silicone for added waterproofing. Two stainless steel screws that were pre drilled were added for strength.

Adding Pressure Guages for the Front Air Bags
One of the frustrating things about the P30 chassis is the front air bags. They should be checkedbefore each trip and the psi adjusted for the weight of the coach. If you have ever crawled under you coach to do this you know what a chore this can be.
I decided there had to be a better way and this is the solution I came up with.
Supplies needed:
1. Valve extenders for two air bags (available as a kit from Camping World, they will go to the underside of the hood).
2. Two brass T fittings ¼” (available at either a home supply center or good auto supply store).
3. Two air pressure gauges (available at an auto supply store with ¼” threaded fitting).
4. Two tire inflation stems with ¼” threaded fittings (available at a good auto supply store).
5. Two ¼” quick connect to ¼” threaded fitting (available at a store that will handle hot rods or autos that use air shocks).
Thread the valve extenders onto the air bags in the front springs and then extend the hoses inside the front hood where it is convenient (they should have come with plastic ties to secure them).
With teflon tape or pipe joint compound screw the pressure gauge, tire inflator and the quick connector into the brass T.
Secure the brass T to the firewall of the motorhome.
Next cut off the end of the plastic hoses.
Push the plastic hose into the quick connector.
Inflate and check with soap suds for any leaks.

AIR BAG GAUGES
These Gauges and tees allow you to monitoe your air pressure and add air with ease.
These pictures are of the gauges on my 99-2830

To improve the voltage drop in the trek headlights, I wired 2 headlight relays directly to the chassis battery . I purchased the 2 relays from radio shack. Part # 275-226 and 2 fuse holders # 270-1234. I also bought some push on wire terminals and wire joiners. I used #10 gauge wire as I already had some. It would not need to be as heavy a gauge.
I started by cutting the existing wires from the headlights. Be sure to leave enough still on the lights to be able to join to. If you leave them long enough so the low and high wires will still reach each other , The ends that led to the passenger side can be folded back and taped up. It make it easier to join the negatives together later on. This made the ends of the wires that originally went to the drivers side lights, long enough to go to the alloy bracket that mounts the drivers side lamps are held in place with, so I used the alloy to mount the relays on. Crimp terminals to both the high and low wires and connect them to each relay . They go onto terminal numbers 85 and 86. It doesn’t matter which way round they go. Then I put a ring terminal on one end of each fuse holder. This ring terminal goes to the battery positive. Next I joined a length of cable to the other wire of each fuse holder and led them to the relays. These go onto terminal # 30.
Next Joined a wire to the passenger low lamp and led it over to the drivers side lamp. I joined it to the drivers low and also in the same crimp joined another wire which I led up to the low relay. This goes onto terminal # 87. It doesn’t mater which wire on the lamp you use.
Then repeat for the high lamp.
Next I joined a wire to the 2 remaining wires on the passenger side and led it to the battery negative. I did the same for the drivers side. All that was left was to put in 2 fuses into the holders and to try them out.
Some 12 volt relays come with a 5th terminal, this one is not used.
I used some spiral wrap and cable ties to tidy things up.
The whole job took a couple of hours,
On my headlights It was easy to unplug the wiring at the headlights, so it was easier to join wires etc with the wires unplugged , then to just plug them back in when all joined.
It has made a huge difference to the brightness of my lights. The other big bonus is that the dash light switch now runs cold instead of quite hot.
I decided to run 2 fuses and individual positive wires to the relays instead of just linking one to the other, This I thought was safer as if a fuse blew or relay shorted . the high and low would be completely separate from each other and would work independently.

Auxiliary fuel pump for a Onan My ’99 Trek 2830 Onan fails when it is blazing hot outside and I need to have the roof A/C going as well as the dash air. I have temperature gauges at various points on the RV and the one behind the front bumper shows 130 degrees when it last failed. A tour of the local RV repair shops and all agree that a secondary fuel pump would do the trick. I bought a pump made by POSI-FLO marked Facet at the local NAPA ($50)

hated that velcro thingy that fastened the door of privacy...being often rush at that time..so i went searching for a better latch.....mrs partridge the last owner had left me a wealth of goodies in the kitchen drawer and in it i found two of the most perfect latches in the world....gosh i thought she must have been going to use these for just this....i installed them and they have worked so so so great. remind self to thank mrs Partridge......later i found out that these are the latches that hold the battery compartment door down shuckins golly gosh darn hahhaahahaha hey! they still work perfectly ....i installed one at one end and the other at the other end like i said they look like they were made for the application kathyandcliff 2430 7.4gas

Dinette table modifacation; The Dinette table was moved to the living room because when pulled out with a setting for four or more, one could not go to the bathroom.The table was also in the way of the stove when finishing cooking.The old little coffee table now in the kitchen was modified by placing a larger custom made wooden top that has locking tracks underneath.It comes off and on by pulling it or pushing it on.It is the perfect size for 2 or for 3 grandchildren.See pictures supplied
