Thanks for your mail. I was quite surprised to see your site, and to know about it.
the book was called "my drums"-(have a copy in front of me) and was included in ?? kits- There was a japanese version too. That was eventually replaced by a book with similar contents, but on the cover was Simon Philipps.
Tama stories....wow... I'm lucky I guess, because I've been with them since '77. Actually my first full day in Japan was at the Tama factory..... Over the years I went there many, many times, and was involved in a lot of testing, choosing, trying, suggesting ideas with their design teams. One of my favorite moments each year at Frankfurt is to visit the Tama stand, and see the Hoshino family.. I visit their head office in Nagoya from time to time when I do clinics at a music school there.
With regard to info you want to know about, I don't know where to start.... So if you have specific questions, maybe that's a good beginning??
