A Witch Alone: Thirteen Moons to Master Natural MagicBy Marian Green. List Price: $16.00
Our Price: $12.80 Review... Written for serious practitioners, Marian Green's Witch Alone: Thirteen Moons to Master Natural Magic guides those who wish to learn the "old religion" without the aid of a coven. Densely written in a serious tone, Witch Alone is nonetheless an inspiring and poetic read. Exercises at the end of each chapter are designed to take a full 28 nights to accomplish, and are designed to progressively lead one down the path to success. Worshippers of the goddess and those interested in exploring the deeper aspects of their own souls will find this tome deeply informative, but for the neo-pagan committed to learning solitary witchcraft, Witch Alone is a must-read. --P. Buckland's Complete Book of WitchcraftBy Raymond Buckland. List Price: $17.95
Our Price: $12.56 You Save: $5.39 (30%) Amazon.com's Editorial... This 1986 classic is not only an excellent introduction to the Wiccan religion and earth-based religions in general, it's also a workbook that can take the serious student to the equivalent level of third-degree Gardnerian. Though Raymond Buckland was a student of the late great Gerald Gardner, this manual does not adhere to a specific branch or denomination of witchcraft, but rather seeks to teach the elements and philosophies common to all, whether Celtic, Saxon, Finnish, or what have you. Buckland is credited with bringing the "old religion" to the U.S., and covens and solitary witches practicing the craft in the U.S. today have him to thank for getting it out of the closet. While Buckland's Complete Book of Witchcraft is a must-have for any serious Wiccan practitioner, it is full of down-to-earth spiritual wisdom, which makes it a wonderful addition to the library of any broadminded seeker on the path toward the One. --P. Drawing Down the MoonBy Margot Adler. List Price: $16.95
Our Price: $13.56 Review... Popular demand for this clear-sighted compendium of information about the rebirth of Pagan religions hasn't waned since its initial publication in 1979. Distinguished by the journalism of National Public Radio columnist Margot Adler, Drawing Down the Moon explains this diverse and burgeoning religion's philosophies and activities while dispelling stereotypes that have long been associated with it. Most people don't realize that pagan simply refers to pre-Christian polytheistic nature religions, such as the various Native American creeds, Japanese Shinto, Celtic Druid, and Western European Wicca. Originally, the word pagan meant "country dweller" and was a derogatory term in Rome in the third century A.D., not unlike calling someone a hick today. If you find yourself feeling queasy when you hear the words witch or pagan, a healthy dose of reeducation via Drawing Down the Moon could be the cure. --P. Eight Sabbats for WitchesBy Janet and Stewart Farrar. List Price: $16.95 Our Price: $16.95 Review... Presents the detailed and dramatic rituals for each of the eight Sabbats--the seasonal ceremonies and festivals intimately linked with the waxing and waning rhythms of the natural year. Using their Book of Shadows (the witch's inherited handbook) as their starting point, practicing witches Janet and Stewart have added mythological and folkloric material, much of it personally gathered. To complete the picture, they also give in full detail the rituals for Casting and Banishing the Magic Circle, and the often misunderstood Great Rite of male-female polarity. They include moving rituals for Wiccaning (the witches' equivalent of Christening), Handfasting (the witch wedding), and Requiem (funeral). Photographs, illustrations. Goddess Initiation: A Practical Celtic Program for Soul-Healing, Self-Fulfillment and Wild WisdomBy Francesca De Grandis. List Price: $16.00
Our Price: $12.80 Review... Goddess Initiation is both "a self-help program and a Celtic shamanic journey," writes Francesca De Grandis. The month-to-month chapter format reads like a yearlong self-improvement project. Each chapter contains a month's worth of spells, practical exercises, rituals, and prayers that guide readers toward the goddess initiation. De Grandis (Be a Goddess) offers a well-rounded lesson plan that emphasizes creativity, career success, increased sexual passion, and the clarification of one's calling or "priesthood." "For example, one reader's priesthood might mean being a stay-at-home mother who devotes her time to raising her children, while another woman might minister by recycling or saving the rain forest," explains De Grandis. Goddess Initiation is based on De Grandis's work as a teacher at The Third Road in San Francisco, where she specializes in Celtic mysticism. Count on plenty of faery talk, a healthy dose of woman-to-woman humor, and an entirely enchanting, down-to-earth narrator. --Gail Hudson

It contains a complete listing of information for the planets with background and mythological information. Reclaim the Power of the Witch: Making Magic Make SenseBy Monte Plaisance. List Price: $18.95
Our Price: $13.26 Review...
***Special Note: This book was written by my "Sistah's" (Lady Rhiannon 2000 on Yahoo and just plain BeB to me) son, and I'm one of the few to have an autographed copy of it. It's addressed to "Aunt Jedi", as I'm affectionately called. This book is definitely a must have! Lady Aquarius' Rating: ****1/2 This recently published book is noteworthy in the sense that it does what no other witchcraft book has done before, and it is perhaps the most psychically charged book that I've ever been privileged to hold since Raymond Buckland's "Complete Book of Witchcraft". "Reclaim" supplies its readers with a useful and authentic source of material that should help those who wish to further their studies in the Craft. The author, Monte Plaisance, clearly states, "I wrote this book for those of you out there who want to reclaim the power of the witch." Often, after reading other books, one is often left thirsting for more. Thankfully, this book is certainly a surprisingly pleasant exception to that redundant trend. "Reclaim" includes true incidents from the author's own personal "trial and error" experiences in the Craft, as well as various spells and herbal concoctions for treating illnesses. It also includes a detailed explanation of The Great Rite. In my opinion, this book is definitely not intended for those persons out there with a simple and basic interest in the Craft. Rather, it appears to be written for the serious student along with those who are truly seeking a real and tangible understanding of what it truly means to be a witch. Reclaim the Power of the Witch helps you to explore the fundamentals of magic, and it definitely is blessed with the ability to take an absolute novice through every step along the way to becoming a thriving, practicing and empowered witch! When you purchase the book, and hold it in your hands, don't be surprised should it speak to you. It is my belief from this experience, that those who become owners of this book, have been able to do such solely via invitation by none other than the great Greek Goddess, Hekate, the Queen of the Witches herself. That's how much this book should be respected, in my opinion. Special Note: It has been my honor to have come to know Mr. Plaisance and his mother over the past few years. I've always known Monte to be upfront, sincere and honest. Very much true to his Sagittarian Sun energies. In his book, you'll find no "fluff"…just a straight up, shot from the hip, point of view. I enjoyed this book very much, and shall treasure it always amongst my collection. Bright Blessings, ~Aquarius~ Recommended by Lady_Aquarius_1962, 3/25/2002.
