Rain and Wind and Fire, Oh my!!!
It was great! Friday night we watched a band of black obliterate the sky and overtake the moon...then decided that we'd best run for cover!!
We had rain in the morning, on and off, on Saturday, and then the day bloomed forth into one of the most beautiful nights I've had at Brushwood! Thanks to a neighboring camper and his dry wood, we had a fabulous bonfire...and roasted marshmallows. We may have even drummed a little around the fire, but mostly we were having too much fun singing, talking and just chilling out.
I'm not sure what we're doing next summer, we might just have a big drum party on Saturday night and call it a FEST! Stay tuned!!
Friday Night: set up camp and drumming, relaxing with a fire.
Saturday Morning/Afternoon: Workshops : skills to play comfortably in a group, selecting and caring for instruments, drum circle facilitation and accompanying skills, using the power of the drum as a pathway to and expression of creativity, spirituality and healing, and using your voice to accompany your drumming. We have a covered area for meals and workshops, should the weather be uncooperative.
Saturday Night: potluck, followed by closing ritual, crystal bowl meditation and shamanic journeying. Drumming will be at our Sacred North Altar, and can move down to the Roundhouse to drum with the Brushwood Community, at your own decision.
Sunday morning pack up.
We're going to have a great time!!
-
We have our own space, our own Sacred Circle.
-
You'll also enjoy the hottub and swimming pool.
-
Bring your own meals, and something to share for the communal potluck on Saturday night. It is in this way that we are able to keep the costs very low so that everyone may attend.
COST:
Camping or lodging fees to be paid directly to Brushwood. Camping $10 per night per person. Contact Brushwood if you'd like to reserve a space in the Painted Trailer $15 per night.
(mailed directly to me for workshops and materials; email or phone for a registration form)
