Welcome to the Paint Shop Pro...

OK...so you are ready to try your hands at tubes, huh?  You are going to love this!  Tubes are nothing more than pictures stored away in a special folder that you can access and stamp into/onto your graphics easily.  These files have their own little distinctive extension of ".tub" so you will have no problem identifying them.  PSP installs with a few tubes but you can find many others on the Internet to download into your tube file or even make some yourself.  They are handy to have and you will quickly find yourself accumulating & using them regularly.

For beginners, here is a very VERY simplified & basic tutorial that tells you how to use the tubes that are already in your PSP tube file.  How to get more will be covered in a little bit.

~ Using Tubes in PSP Tube Files ~
  1. We start off in PSP with a graphic already open that you want to add a tube to.
  2. Click on the picture tube tool    and then the tool options palette .
  3. You will get a pop up box that shows you all the tubes in your tube file.  You can browse through them by clicking on that little triangle to select the one you want.
  4. For now...don't do anything fancy, just move your cursor over to the graphic and click to stamp the tube into it.  That's it, you're done!

Note:  if you get a message that says you can only use the tool on a 24 bit color image (or some such nonsense), just click on COLOR > INCREASE COLOR DEPTH > (24 BIT)

~ ADDing To Your Tube Collection ~

You'll need this program (or another zip program) to unzip tube
files you've downloaded & extract them to your PSP tubes file.

It's a little wordy but if you stick with her, you'll be
both entertained and enlightened.  She uses Winzip!

A very well written tutorial on how to install, make & use your tubes.
Pointers on what to do if there are multiple images.

~ Let's Go Tubing! ~

Alrighty then...let's go looking for those tubes.  I am listing below links to lists of links (NOT links to individual sites).  We have a list of links to specific sites that have been recommended by Royalty here at The Clip Art Palace...hop on over to the PSP Tube Sites.  If you come across a site that YOU like, please be sure to add it our list!  As always, we appreciate your contributions to our Palace!

Important Note:  You cannot use PSP5 tubes in PSP7!

between PSP5, PSP6 & PSP7 from Jasc Software.
