Make a Donation for Fall 2007 School Supplies
History
Since early 2001, members of the Hangout, other web groups and private individuals have all contributed (with their time, money and donations of supplies) to meet the needs of the children of Rio Bueno and Duncans with the Grand Lido Braco School Supply Projects!
Past Projects:
- September 2006- 1) All 3 of the sponsored schools got bags of school supplies donated by Hangout members. These bags included pens, pencils, erasers, notbooks, folders, rulers, crayons, storybooks, coloring books, maps and more. 2) All the children at the Rio Bueno Basic School got new school shoes.

- May - September 2005- 1) All 3 of the sponsored schools got bags of school supplies donated by Hangout members. These bags included pens, pencils, erasers, notbooks, folders, rulers, crayons, storybooks, coloring books and more. 2) Installation of the new FREEZER and GAS STOVE for the Rio Bueno Basic School occurred in November 2005. The funds for purchase of these two items were raised on-premise at GLB in May 2005 by visiting Hangout members. 3) Improvements to the Rio Bueno Basic School playground and kitchen area were made on Labor Day (May) by GLB staff, management and Hangout members.

- December 2004 - 1) Presentations made from the Hurricane Ivan Relief Fund to GLB Employees suffering losses in the storm. Hangout Members raised $4,000 for the effort; 2) Presentations of school supplies to all three schools, plus new school shoes for every child in the Rio Bueno Basic School

2001 - 2004: purchased and delivered items from the schools' "Wish Lists" which keep the students and teachers supplied with items for every-day needs - such as teaching supplies, paper, notebooks, pencils, chalk, etc.

Your Help is Needed for the Fall 2007 Projects! Please help!
Our goals are:
1) Provide school supplies for the students of the Rio Bueno All-Age School (6 - 15 year-olds)
2) Provide school supplies needed for the "Special Needs" children of the Duncans School. (learning-disabled kids)
3) Provide school supplies for the students of the Rio Bueno Basic School (2 - 6 year-olds)
These 3 fall projects are part of the bigger Grand Lido Braco School Supply Project effort that has been underway since April, 2001.

Helping by direct involvement:
1) If you want to provide items from the "Wish List" for the Special Needs Class, or the Rio Bueno All-Age School or the Rio Bueno Basic School, check the Wish List Updates . You can then select the items to buy, take them in your luggage and turn them in when you check-in at GLB. If you wish, a trip to the school can be arranged for you.
